A Girl Like Her
Chapter 1
Rose
Snow dropped like tear drops as Rose lifted her face to the sky inhaling the scent of Montana and just taking it in. It was great to finally be back. After spending her winter break with her dad in Russia, Rose had finally arrived back in Montana two days ago and this was the first day that she would reunite with all of her friends that she had missed terribly.
She walked up the concrete steps and smiled at all her friends taking in every single one of their faces .Lissa, her best friend for all intents and purposes waved at her, but what really caught her eye and made Rose smile from ear to ear was her other best friend and crush even though he never would know it, Dimitri Belikov. Rose had always had a thing for him ever since Jesse Zeklos had made her cry in grade school and Dimitri had punched his lights out for it, but Dimitri had never returned the same feelings for her.
When she finally managed to reach her circle of friends, Lissa pulled her into a hug which Rose happily returned.
"The prominent queen returns. How was Russia"
"You know same old, Same old." Rose said tossing her long brown hair over her shoulder as if she went to Russia all the time.
Mia gave her a look as if she couldn't care less about Rose's adventures and had better things to talk about.
"So Rose, Have you met the new girl yet?"
"Ugh no, I wasn't even aware we had a new student. Who is she?"
" I swear she's wearing the ugliest outfit that I've ever seen. She's right over there if you want to take a look."
Rose's gaze followed to where Mia pointed her finger where she caught glimpse of a girl who was wearing a long skirt and a button up that covered most of her body. Her long curly brown hair was tied back in a ponytail as she mostly avoided the glares and strange looks from their fellow students. Rise shrugged. She didn't think this girl looked that bad.
"What's her name?"
"Avery Lazar." someone answered sending Rose out of her thoughts and wondering where the hell she had heard that name before.
