A/N: So, I actually wrote this a long time ago. I just finally willed myself to type it up and post it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. There's no dialogue. But it's full of thoughts and fluff, which I my very favorite stuff to write a about. It's also REALLY short, but whatever. It's still a decent piece, I suppose.
Disclaimer: I do not own Sonny With a Chance.
An Unexpected Descent
She was the last person he'd ever expected to fall for.
He'd never been in love before, but typically, he chased blonds- tall, thin, and worthy of strutting the cat walk. So when her dark bouncy ringlets and petite frame charmed him, he was quite taken aback.
Normally, he went after the dumb ones. Sure, he didn't have to. After all, he could have just about any girl he desired. But it was just easier that way. They were more ignorant, simpler, about as deep as a puddle, and they ate out of the palm of his hand. And that was the way he, the biggest womanizer in all of teen Hollywood, liked it.
Until he met her.
It definitely wasn't love at first sight, considering his first encounter with the ball of sunshine included some fro-yo thieving and a fat suit. However, it was the second time he stumbled upon her that he began to look twice. And things…they began to change. His immediate assessment of the wigless, fat suit lacking Sonny was pretty male-typical: She was…well, she was hot. Just as a whole.
But, as he became more observant, his opinion of her appearance became more specific. For starters, he liked her hair. Liked that it was dark. And shiny. Liked that no matter how she styled it, straight or curled, it never looked like she tried too hard. It was pretty. He also liked her smile. It was big, happy, and 100% genuine, which was rare in L.A. And last, but not least, her eyes. They were so…enthralling. They were wide and innocent, yet knowing… and deep. They held kindness, passion, and warmth.
He soon came to conclusion that this girl was different. She was never afraid to be herself, always perky and full of life. She was always honest. She said what she felt. And she never hesitated to tell Chad the way it was. And how much she loathed him. Though he'd never admit it, the girl was actually a breath of fresh air. Her confidence allowed her to stand up to Chad Dylan Cooper. And it drove him wild.
So he fell. Hard.
At first, he was completely unaware of it. He didn't really understand why he was suddenly walking though the So Random! side of the studio to get to his dressing room. He had no idea why he and Sonny's banter was the highlight of his day. He couldn't define his sudden desire to stop by the prop house on his way to the parking lot. And, for the life of him, Chad could not figure out why he wanted to punch a hole in the wall every time he saw Sonny even look at another guy. Or why he'd agreed to a stupid game of musical chairs, put on cast and a beard, or willed himself to be the 'perfect prom date'.
Bottom line, this girl made him feel things he'd never felt before. Things he wasn't even sure he wanted to feel…
Until now. Because he's proud to say that he's fallen. Proud to say "I love you" to the most beautiful girl he's ever wanted and ever achieved.
And every time Sonny takes Chad's hand and intertwines her fingers with his, he prays that she has fallen just as hard.
