In the farthest reaches of Hyrule, in the region dubbed the Forbidden Forest, walked a young boy clad in green. With a sword and shield on his back, and a fairy at his side, he made his way through the mysterious woods. Occasionally the fairy would pause and redirect the young boy, guiding him safely past the dangerous sentinels of the sacred grounds. The boy had first thought the fairy to be annoying with all her chattering and advice, but he understood her intentions. Hyrule had been peaceful for hundreds of years, but darkness and war had returned to their beautiful land. He had been chosen by the goddesses to return peace to the land, a tall order he was certain he'd fail.

Navi the fairy insisted he was destined to save Hyrule, just as the Hero of Time had long ago. The stories she told of the ancient hero sounded like something out of a dream. She spoke as if she'd been there, as if she'd met the hero of legend. He was hesitant to believe her words, but he knew he'd require her help to succeed in recovering the Master Sword and defeat the darkness plaguing his home. He marched on through the winding paths of the Lost Woods, following the strange music that permeated the stifling air.

At long last the boy found himself in a small clearing in the deepest part of the woods. The area was deserted with the exception of a young girl sitting on a tree stump. Dressed in typical Kokiri garb, she played her ocarina as her fairy hovered nearby. With a jolt the boy realized the song was the same that had echoed through his mind, guiding him here. The girl finally noticed him and continued to play as he came closer.

As he made his way to her, he turned his head to see Navi leave his side. She stopped in front of what looked like a grave. Intrigued, he stepped closer to examine the grave marker. The girl watched them curiously, never pausing in her song. Closer examination revealed writing that was too worn out to read, and he sighed in resignation.

"These woods are the final resting place of the Hero of Time. This is his grave." The boy stared incredulously at Navi but she continued," He was a great warrior. He traveled across the land of Hyrule, and through time, to defeat Ganondorf and bring peace back to our home. He was a good friend."

She hovered sadly over the grave, her tiny wings flapping with less vigor than usual. Touched by her sentiment, the boy removed his hat and kneeled before the grave. Closing his eyes, he silently paid his respects to the man who protected his homeland once upon a time. Rising, he stood before the girl, hat still in hand, and bowed politely to her. She lowered her ocarina and smiled," It's nice to finally meet you," she extended her hand kindly," My name is Saria."
