Hi! So this is my first fanfic so please let me know what you think by reviewing but don't go too hard on me.

Disclaimer: I don't own M.I. High or any of characters.

Oscar tossed and turned in his sleep as his mind was filled with images of the past. Times of betrayal.

His mum was mainly the cause of these dreams or you might say, nightmares.

He moaned in his sleep as his mind thought of the pain that he had experienced when his mum gripped his hand so many years ago.

He woke up with a start, his mind reeling and it took many minutes before he realized that he was just imagining it. He felt around for the switch to his lamp, trying to banish the shadows. He then felt his pencil communicator and felt the sudden urge to call one of his team mates. Just as he was about to call, he felt slightly bad for waking them up in the middle of the night. But just days before they had said that if he ever needed to talk, then his is welcome to do so. His choices were to either call and risk it or try to go back to sleep were his bad thoughts were sure to overtake him. With that in mind he pressed the 'Call Rose' button and waited for her to (hopefully) pick up. Oscar heard the click indicating that she had accepted the call and pressed the pencil to his ear.

"Oscar?" Rose's voice filled his ear and he thought she sounded a goggly on the other side.

"Hey Rose, sorry to wake you but I have a little problem"

"Are you alright? Is it SKUL?" She sounded wide awake now he thought. This job did that to you.

"No, dreams" He said softly and he could almost hear he face soften.

"Oh Oscar… what was it this time?" Rose said softly into the pencil as she laid back on her bed.

"My mum. It was the day she was taken by the M.I.9 agents." He said looking down into his lap. He felt sometimes felt uncomfortable talking about his mum even to his team mates. He always felt like deep down that they did not trust him, however they always denied this when he brought it up.

"Oscar… I can't erase the past as much as I would like too but I can change my future, so can you. You have the power to change that and you have even more power when you work for M.I.9. You can stop people like the Grand Master from ruining the world. You have the power to make a difference. Not many people get that chance. So the past is something that you can actually use to your advantage. You have experience and that gives you more motivation to stop it from happening to others." Rose said that uncertainly, not sure exactly what he wanted to hear to reassure himself.

Oscar thought about what Rose had said and didn't reply straight away but sat there wondering. The girl on the other end knew that he might be thinking so she sat there patiently waiting to see if he wanted to reply or whether she should keep talking.

"Thanks Rose, that made me feel a little better about it all" Oscar said gratefully

"Your welcome, I am always here you, you know that right?" Rose replied and hoped that he did get the message that she was there for him, as he did have a reputation for keeping worries to himself.

"Yes I do, thanks" He said into the end of the pencil while looking at his room.

"Anytime" was Rose's reply

Oscar not feeling like going back to sleep anytime soon stayed talking to Rose for a while longer and when they did say their goodbyes it was in the very early hours of the morning.
