"So… warrior princess." The God of War moved his finger slowly, tauntingly, up Xena's chest. "What do you want to do first?"
It was just sunset, and Xena had finished clearing up Aphrodite's scroll mess. "I don't really feel like it now."
"Aw come on. I see that look in your eye, the one you have when you fight me. It's the same you have when you look at me. You can't deny that you have the hots for me." He began to move his hand through Xena's hair, but she thrust it away from her.
"Ares, don't you UNDERSTAND!" A look of disgust swam across her face, stunning him. "I can't… do this anymore!" She began to get up, pacing back and forth.
"Do what?"
"THIS!" Xena paused in front of Ares, making a back and forth motion with her hands, between her and Ares. "It's just… I like you and all, but…"
"But what?" Now Ares got up, and walked over to Xena, an angry look on his face.
"I'm lying to myself if I think that what we have is going to be anything like the connection that Gabrielle and I share. When we have sex, it feels like the whole world has been lifted off my shoulders… and," Xena's face fell into an annoyed tone. "You wouldn't get it."
"I can't believe this." Ares made a mocking noise to himself, "I'm losing the woman of my dreams to that… irritating blonde." He watched Xena walk away, her stride showcasing what strong thighs the warrior had gotten through all those years in battle. He was going to miss those.
"I'm sorry Ares, what we had was fun and all, but what Gabrielle and I share… you could never come close to that."
He just couldn't believe this was happening to him, the God of War. Tears swam in his eyes as he watched the warrior princess disappear over the tall hill, knowing he could never be hers again.
