"Don't worry; I bought them."

Maximus smiled in approval at Flynn as he leaned down to scoop up three of the apples that Flynn had thrown at his feet. Maybe the long haired girl was putting some good influence on him. Perhaps he would finally change.

". . .Most of them."

Or, maybe not.

Maximus froze in mid-munch when he heard that. Was he serious? Probably. He was Flynn Rider.

Should he return the apples?

But he had already eaten three! He was pretty sure the market owners would notice that detail.

Well, maybe he could pay for them.

Oh please, Maximus, you're a horse. You don't have any money!

What am I suppose to do then? Hmm….. Well, he did say he bought most of them . . .

Maximus! You're not thinking about eating them, are you? That would be a partially crime committed!

But . . . they're sooo tasty . . .

Maximus, snap out of IT!

Back off! You can't tell me what to do!

Maximus let out a troubled snort, attempting to fight off his inner demon and angle. They were getting on his nerves . . .

He averted his gaze back on the bag of apples. What will he do? If he eats them, then he would be breaking the law, which would make him a thief, and also a hypocrite. He couldn't return them, because they would notice that some of the apples were missing, and he would get blamed for eating them….which he kind of did… What was a horse to do?

Finally coming to a decision, he thought it be best if he just got rid of the bag. Taking the open end of the bag in between his teeth, he swung it up as hard as he could, sending it flying over the wall next to the pier. Unfortunately for Maximus, there just so happened to be a man wandering about, that was just unlucky enough to unexpectedly get hit in the head with the bag of apples, making it bounce back over the wall directly into Maximus' face, and eventually, toppling into the sea.

Giving out a whiney of pure frustration, Maximus slammed his head repeatedly on the wooden pier.

Sometimes it was hard being the good guy.

A/N: Poor Maximus. :P I don't own Tangled, just this story. It was inspired by that one part in the movie . . . You're smart, you probably know what I'm talking about.

Hope you enjoyed! Apples for everyone who reviews!
