End

The world is made of beginnings and endings.

Ritsuka begins with the end of the original, Ritsuka does not just end, and there is just a new version of him. The body lives on and the soul forgets. The mind wanders though and wonders, wonders why did it change? But nobody can answer him, not a soul. Ritsuka, this new foreign one that is so quickly becoming cold clutches at his older brother. He's the only soul that really cares, the only one that will ever really care. Father just sits and watches, hesitates, and mother just hates and hates. Picky beloved thing she is.

But Seimi cares; he is the only one that has ever cared. Ritsuka no longer lives for whatever reasons he lived for before. He lives for Seimi. You may think this a shallow statement that spares no notice for others, but that's what it is. Ritsuka has not been in the world long and he has already learned that lying about how little he cares for others is just a waste of time. No, the only things that matter in the world are his family.

It's precious in an ugly twisted way, the way he clings to the shadow of a family. This new foreign Ritsuka has broken the perfect image, the new Ritsuka can tell. There is nothing there to lie about. The new Ritsuka knows. Who cannot see it in the way mothers face twists, how her voice raises, and how the fork burns as it digs metal prongs into his shoulder? Yes, Ritsuka understands that he has broken what was probably once perfection.

He knows it's there for a time but soon forgets it. He can tell Seimi is sick for a time, but soon forgets it as admiration sets in. You can't really come from a mother like theirs and not be missing a few key components. It's common sense. Sometimes all Ritsuka wants to do in his painful glory is just strike back. He doesn't want to take mothers screeches, her slaps, or when she throws food and dishes everywhere.

Sometimes Ritsuka wants to ignore the fork in his shoulder and grab the butter knife and just stab back. He wants to keep on going till the woman just shuts up because the old Ritsuka is never coming back. But like many a thing he forgets these thoughts to.

He particularly forgets the night when Seimi dies. He forgets how he wanted to kill the stupid, stupid woman and man who had dared to make him and his brother. Because it was rather obvious in all it's painful glory that something was wrong. He just wanted to take a knife to the walls and the soft flesh of his parents.

Maybe he would be surprised at how easily the skin broke, how everything stains and how the stains just won't come out. The floor downstairs has only been slightly saved by the wax coating it and that is constantly refreshed on it. Otherwise it would have bloodstains, all from Ritsuka of course, spattered all across it here and there. Ritsuka so wants his mother and fathers blood to join the few marks he has made on the pale surface.

But Ritsuka forgets these thoughts, these nights, like he forgets everything else.

He meets Soubi, knows how painful it is to hear "I love you," and Ritsuka suddenly just wants it all to end. To set fire to the madness that follows him and his family like a disease. Family is all he has, all he has ever had. All this new Ritsuka will ever know. The old Ritsuka is dead and he has no idea how he would feel about all the madness anyways.

Ritsuka thinks this and by morning he has forgotten, and Ritsuka keeps on forgetting and forgetting and forgetting and forgetting and forget-

His name is Loveless and it just goes to show how very wrong his life is.

AU: Ugh, I hate this. So out of character, or at least I think so. Whatever. Never, EVER listen to "Roxanne" from the Moulin Rouge and read a Loveless fic with Seimi and Ritsuka in it. TOTALLY SCREWS WITH YOUR BRAIN. Eh I hate begging or asking for these things but…review?
