If there was one thing Neku had a weakness for, although he'd never admit it because he'd never openly admit he had any weakness, it was Shiki's blush.

Every time he even spoke to her, she'd blush. It was by far the cutest thing he'd seen her do, and quite frankly, he loved it. Of course he wouldn't tell her this, but he'd occasionally intentionally say something relatively innocent that could be taken as suggestive - that always worked. He couldn't decide whether he found her reactions adorable or hilarious, or maybe both, but it was great entertainment either way.

Once he decided to watch her carefully when she was talking to Beat, wondering if she blushed all the time, but she didn't. Not at all.

So, it's just me, huh? he thought smugly as he continued to watch the two. That thought pleased him greatly for some reason, making a slow smirk force its way onto his face. This smirk faltered slightly when he started thinking about what that might mean, and then it grew into a wide, rather un-Neku-like grin. Does that mean... maybe... she likes me? he pondered. That was very interesting. During the Game he hadn't paid a great deal of attention to her. She was annoying and over-the-top, until a little way into the Game when she'd started behaving more like her true self. Neku found this true Shiki significantly more agreeable. The real Shiki, both her body and her personality, was much more Neku's type.

His wide grin was starting to make his cheeks ache, so he relaxed his face, but he couldn't seem to shake the slight smirk playing over his lips, no matter how hard he tried.

If Shiki likes me...what do I do? How do I find out if she really does? Neku started thinking about all the possibilities, all the ways he could determine whether she had a crush on him or not. Nearly all of them started to make him blush a tiny bit.

Beat said a very loud and crude-sounding goodbye to Shiki, and she giggled slightly and waved as he hopped on his skateboard and started weaving his way through the crowds of the Scramble. After he'd disappeared, she pulled a strange face like she really didn't know what to make of the conversation she'd just had, shook her head, and turned, only to see Neku watching her. He tried to make it look like he was rooting through his pocket for something and pretended not to notice her, but she walked over to him anyway, smiling. And blushing, of course. Just a bit.

"Hey, Neku..." she said shyly, using the excuse of pushing her glasses a little further up her nose to cover her face and conceal the blush she knew was spreading.

He smiled. "Shiki," was all he said. So does she? Or doesn't she? She blushes at the slightest thing I do, she doesn't when it's Beat or Rhyme or Eri... But he couldn't be sure...

Before he could really think it through, he impulsively leant forward and pressed his lips to hers. He was surprised himself, he hadn't even planned on doing that! It was like his body was on autopilot or something. She returned the kiss slightly, before he pulled away to watch her reaction. Her lips are so soft... he thought absently as he watched her.

Her eyes were as wide as saucers, she had a tiny shy smile on her face, and, of course, she was blushing like crazy.

"Wow," Shiki squeaked, and allowed Neku to take her chin in his hands and kiss her again, just a small kiss but enough to make her feel like her whole body was about to explode.

This, Neku decided, was his new favourite way to make her blush.

Note to self: Do that more often.
