Tears
Tears. . . They rushed to her eyes as she was forced to watch her home world be completely obliterated. Desolation was the feeling that kept them from falling as she was led back to her cell. She had gambled and lost everything that was dear to her. It would only be a matter of time before she joined her people in death.
Tears. . . Shocked and delighted they would have been had she let them fall, when a young trooper rushed into her cell to free her. Annoyance was the heat that rushed forward when her rescuers needed rescuing.
Tears. . . Held at bay in the icy hanger on Hoth as she watched the shield doors close with her friends still not returned. Great was the sweet relief she felt to find them returned in the morning, only a little worse for wear. Handsome and devilishly charming was the scoundrel that had stolen her heart. Many were the excuses she denied thinking up to keep him from leaving.
Tears. . . Frustrated they would have been if she dared to let them fall, when he walked up to say goodbye. Calculatively she showed him what he was missing as she kissed another who was safe. So cold was the hard look she walked away from him with.
Tears. . . They pulled at her as she listened to her brave people dying to protect her cell of the Alliance. Splendid and heroic was the scoundrel, come to her rescue again. At his insistence she followed him. Feeble was the denial she gave for not liking him. How happy she was that he saw right through it and finally kissed her.
Tears. . . They burned in her tightly shut eyes as she returned his second kiss with all the emotion she had for him. Fearful uncertainty was what gripped her heart as she watched him being pulled away from her by little creatures. Brave was the look reflecting in his eyes that never left her as he dropped down to his possible end.
Tears. . . they brimmed in her eyes as she stood over her exhausted and delirious friend. Memories of painful loss rushed forward while she tended his wounds. Throughout the flight back to the Alliance she stayed at his side . Lost and alone in her own heartache she wondered, When will it end? The doomed scoundrel resurfaced in her mind and the painful tears fell at last.
"I love you."
