~Here's a Sorting Hat song I just came up with. I'm probably adding this to one of my HP stories, once I've started them. Hope you like!
The Sorting Hat
From his head you clearly see
He pulls me out to find
That Godric made a Sorting Hat
The only of my kind
Rowena taps me at the tip
And gave me gift of singing
To choose the House in which you'll live
For your wizard's upbringing
And Helga, dear old Helga,
Thought one song would be a bore,
She witched me so that I would sing
No songs the same 'ne more
What about that Salazar?
Of course he's added his touch,
The power to think, to choose, to tell,
They hoped it wasn't too much
So now I come to you, young friends,
To tell you of your fate
For when you put me on tonight
Your House will show by rate.
In Gryffindor, it is the key
For being noble, brave, reserve,
Their acts of good, like lions, should
Keep them from losing their nerve
Another house, and here I see,
The wise and cunning of yore,
In Ravenclaw they're bound to meet
To share their knowledge and lore
For Hufflepuffs, be happy to find
A loyal friend, worthy of your time
Their trust will never waver
Even in the toughest crimes
And, yes, ambitious Slytherin,
They're never missing in action,
Ambition is what drives them best
Feel lucky to get their compassion.
Alas, I've sung enough tonight
To last me for a year,
Now put me on and give me a try,
The
hat is nothing to fear!
