Searching the Sky for You
Prologue
It was late, Alex knew she should be inside, asleep in her warm bed but she couldn't sleep. She hadn't been able to since it had happened. Loosing the one person you love above all else has that kind of effect on you, it makes you feel like life just isn't worth it anymore. And that's exactly how Alex felt. What's the point if the one person she truly cared about was gone, lost forever? The answer was simple: there was none. Alex sighed as she stared up at the starry sky where a full moon was half hidden by the clouds. She didn't know that a thousand miles away he was looking at the same full moon and was thinking of her.
The sun rose, spreading light over New York and waking up the young wizard from her dreams. Sighing, she got off the roof and slipped back in her window before her parents noticed her absence. They hated how sad she was and they especially hated that far off look she got whenever she thought of him. Justin was the same way, except instead of doing nothing like his sister, he threw himself into his academics. Night and day he studied math, science, history… you name it; and when he wasn't studying for school he was studying magic. Trying to find some way to get his beautiful Juliet back. Alex on the other hand did nothing but stare out her window thinking of him and blaming herself for what had happened, all the while falling deeper into depression.
"Alex, Justin, Max," their mother called, "it's time to get up!"
With one last mournful look out her window, Alex stepped out of her room and walked downstairs where Justin and Max already were. Justin looked just as tired as she felt Alex noticed as she sat next to him and began to nibble at her breakfast. She soon found herself staring out the window, wondering where he was.
A thousand miles away a blonde wolf howled mournfully at the sky.
