" 'Missing Girl Found After Five Years, see story below,'"

Harry put the Daily Prophet down as looked up at Ron and Hermione, who were busy munching away at their ice cream cones.

"Well, I guess it's a little reminder that He who Must Not Be Named's resurrection hasn't destroyed everything," Hermione mumbled in mid-munch.

Harry sighed, folded up the newspaper, and stood up.

They had met in Diagon Alley yesterday, and because today was unusually humid, they had stopped at the ice cream parlor after getting their supplies.

Ron had gotten a new broom, thanks to Fred and George. It wasn't a Firebolt, but it was still a good one.

"Let's go get our books, hmm?" Hermione finished off her ice cream and wiped her hands on a napkin.

"Jusssssht a minrutt..."

Ron shoved the whole thing into his mouth, then he turned very blue. Hermione dragged him off in the direction of Flourish and Blotts.

"Brain... freeze..." he managed to squeak as they pushed their way through the crowds.

"I like this one."

Hermione scrunched up her face.

"Ugh! But that one's got ice cream smears!"

"Oops..." Ron gurgled.

"I'm going to ask the supervisor if they have any more," Hermione said to no one in particular.

She headed off in no certain direction, and when she didn't see the manager anywhere, she wandered near the back of the bookstore, where she knew the stock room was.

*Perhaps he's just taking a break* she thought to herself.

She leaned against one of the bookshelves and hummed softly to herself. There wasn't anyone around that she could bother, anyway.

All of a sudden, she was knocked to the ground by someone going a little too quickly through the book isles.

"What where you're going!" she growled.

But when she saw who had knocked her over, her heart stopped. It was Malfoy.

He was looking around suspiciously with his cold, steel grey eyes. He seemed a little unnerved, then he looked down at Hermione, and got a small shock, which he quickly hid under a light smirk and a wee snarl.

"What are YOU doing here, Granger?!"

She looked at him testily, closed her eyes, calmed down, and tried to push herself to her feet. She was having trouble, and then Malfoy stuck out his hand. It surprised Hermione, but it must have surprised Draco even more. She met his eyes, bit her lip, then grasped his hand firmly and he pulled her up.

"Why'd you do that?"

Draco looked away embarrasedly, then muttered, "I've got better things to do."

"Wait!" Hermione grabbed his arm.

He paused, then looked back at Hermione, traces of fear almost evident on his face. She let him go, but not after giving one of her 'concerned' looks.

He swept past her, leaving her feeling very confused and a bit dizzy.
