"Make haste, Hekate! The Norse have nearly arrived."

"I'm trying, Jupiter! Let me work. Besides, they would not dare destroy our peace."

Jupiter's countenance grew dim, "If that was the case, we wouldn't have had to go through with this in the first place."

The three Precursors, Jupiter, Minerva, and Hekate, had attempted to retain some sort of peace throughout the war. The humans the other gods had treated so terribly had joined together with the Norse Aesir to combat their oppressors and the Aesir's sworn enemies, the Jotnar, who had combined forces with the Precursors.

The King of the Gods, his daughter, and the daughter of Nyx had wanted nothing to do with the war that was ripping their world apart, but they felt they had to do something after Hecate's foresight showed them the end of the world. And now, even after doing nothing to the opposing side of most of their kind, they were still being chased down by the humans and the Aesir.

"Agh!" Hekate shouted, the light that had been flowing from her fingertips abruptly extinguished and leaving the inhabitants of the room in a smoky darkness.

When the smoke cleared, and the three Esu regained their vision, 4 figures stood silently like sentinels in the center of the room. Then, their eyes flickered open.
