He left Rossi's house about 2 am he headed to his apartment to change, sleep and then head to New York. While on the train he thinking about the mystery that is his girlfriend, after dating for a year and a half she is still in his life most logical people would have probably left with the canceled dates or dates with his son, but not Beth she understood it all. Stepping on the concourse with a smile on his face he figured he must be doing something right. Unlocking her apartment door the sight that greeted him his grin got bigger, Beth and Jack were both curled up on her sofa bed sound asleep. Knowing his son is sometimes a restless and talkative sleeper he sat his bags down and slid his arms under her sleeping figure and retreated to her bedroom.

The first thing she felt was her hair being swept back and soft kisses were peppering her neck and that one spot behind her ear. "Uh excuse me sir may I ask what you are doing? my boyfriend should be here any minute." She said jokingly with sleep still thick in her voice. "Oh really you have a boyfriend damn." He said sarcastically. "Yeah he is about 3 foot 2, sandy blonde hair and talks in his sleep." It was then that he started to tickle her "you think your funny do you." He said while his hands roamed. Through her giggles she was pleading for him to stop so he did, wrapping her arms around his neck she rested her forehead against his and they simply stared into each other's eyes.

"Welcome back." She said

"Thanks, god how I missed you." He declared, rolling on his back he laid back while she curled up next to him her head settling on his chest.

"I missed you too, how are you; how's Dave?"

He sighed "I'm ok I guess as for Dave, I don't know he seems ok he all but kicked me out of his house." He turned his head and gave a small smile and a kiss. "Ya know I'm really glad I had to stop to check my time in the park that day and that you stopped to talk." He stated with a small grin.

Letting out a giggle; "yeah if you hadn't to stop to catch your breath I might have missed the chance to meet the man in the suit." She noticed that he was quiet lifting her head "ok what's up Hotchner you're getting quiet on me."

"nah I'm ok I'm just thinking that I don't know what I did to earn my way into your life and heart but I'm glad I did, not many normal people would have stayed once the job got in the way."

"so I'm crazy then huh? She said teasingly; "Aaron look at me" once he did "you didn't do anything but be yourself, the stoic FBI agent or the silly dad that builds forts with his son while wearing a bed sheet, or the shy and quiet guy who got all tongue tied trying to ask me out on a date. That's the guy I fell in love with."

He sat up resting his back against the headboard "Yeah but how many cancelled dates or special occasions that will probably be missed before you get tired of it." Leaning his head back against the wall " I'm sorry I'm being a mood killer this whole thing with Sean then this case was just way too close and I don't know what I'd do if he would have decided to come after you or Jack even though his vendetta was against Strauss and Blake."

Tightening her arms around him "yeah you're a buzz kill right now but given the last few days you have every right to be, plus I know that you would you would do everything in your power to protect us at least I can say for me and Jack that we trust you, I knew what I signed up for when we started dating as for the missed dates and stuff it happens."

"I know I'm hard to love but I love that you love me, I just hope that I can show you that I love you too." He said with a smile

"eh you're not that hard to love , I'm just glad your back safe and in my arms, now the boy and I were up late so he will probably sleep longer than normal so what do you say " she leaving the rest of her sentence up to his imagination.
