A/N 2: There was a reader who noticed a few glitches in the story, thanks for pointing them out, I hope I corrected them all. Now about Harry sounding far younger than the age I gave him... I also work with children and in my experience children behave to expectations... What I mean is that if you treat them as if they're really young, they will act really young. When I think about Harry being raised by his parents as an only child, in that time, I always think that Lily and James'll baby him, simply because he is this small piece of hope in a world where that is all too rare...

Dear Diary,
Today is my sixth birthday and as a gift, I get a new Daddy! Mr. Martin – he is the one that helped me with the date and has been taking care of me since Mommy and Daddy went away, he's also helping me write this – said he had found a man that was my uncle twice removed, but I don't understand what he was removed from. He said the man's name is Severus and that he would be my new Daddy. Mommy told me I should always have my diary with me for when something nice happens and now I am waiting for my new Daddy to come. Mommy gave me this diary as an early birthday present; she said she gave it because I had done so good in the writing lessons she gives me and so I could write down how much fun I had on my birthday. The next day she and my old Daddy went away… I don't know why they haven't come back yet.
I heard my new Daddy and Mr. Martin talking, they said that I had an auntie Tuna but that she didn't want me… She must be a meanie and I'm glad she doesn't want me; I don't want to go to a fishy auntie.
I'm in the car now with my new Daddy, he has a big nose, and he's singing along with the radio… he shouldn't, it hurts my ears.
My new Daddy says I shouldn't call him my new Daddy, he says he doesn't know how to be a Daddy because he's only 26 years old. I don't understand, 26 years old is very old! My old Daddy was also 26 years old and he always said he was getting to old to play horsey with me! It's like a gazillion years older than me! Why can't I call him my new Daddy? I'll ask again.
My new Daddy got cross with me, he said I shouldn't call him Daddy because he isn't my Daddy and because he didn't like my old Daddy, he said my old Daddy was stupid but I know he doesn't mean it because he has sad eyes when he says it.
My new Daddy says I should call him Severus. I will when I say it but to you and me, Diary, he will be my new Daddy. Don't tell him, ok? It's our little secret.
Do you think he will get me a puppy? I like puppies, my old Daddy always said he would buy me a puppy when I was old enough. I hope my old Daddy will bring me a puppy when he gets back and that he won't be mad that I have two Daddies now.
I asked my new Daddy if my old Daddy would bring me a puppy when he gets back and my new Daddy got very sad. He said my old Daddy wouldn't come back and that he and Mommy were in heaven with Grandmamma and the Angels… I don't like that, Mommy always said that when someone goes where Grandmamma went they can never come back.
I have to go now; my new Daddy says it's time to buy me a birthday present… Silly Daddy, doesn't he know that he is my present?
