Okay, I know I said that this would be out in Late March. I've been busy, with only enough time to edit and add to this chapter.

2021

Giovanni was sitting at the table, talking with Zatanna and hearing about her most recent mission with Nightwing and Superboy.

"And then, after downloading everything we needed, he purposefully tripped a security failsafe. And everything blew up." Zatanna said, making her father spit out his tea back into his cup.

"Pardon?" Giovanni asked, wiping the tea from his face with a napkin.

"Yeah. He said the place was going to collapse any way." Zatanna said, taking a bite of her scone. "And if he didn't do it, Conner would have knocked it down."

Giovanni nodded. "Ah." He smiled.

"So, how are you adjusting to retirement?" Zatanna asked.

"I'm not retired, it's just that no one wants to see an old man running to the rescue." Giovanni said. Or rather, the league chose Zatanna over him most of the time because she was faster in reflexes and thought which was better for strategies.

Zatanna laughed at her father. "No, not really." She smiled. "I was thinking of taking a vacation."

"Really?" Giovanni's interest was piqued. "Where?"

Zatanna's smile widened. "Yeah, I was thinking of going to Turkey. See where mom grew up."

Giovanni's pupils slightly widened. "O- oh, that's wonderful.." He said, concealing his fear.

"And I was wondering if you wanted to come with me, ya know, because you know more about the village than me." Zatanna offered.

Giovanni took a moment to answer. Zatanna wanted to go and see the place of her mother's birth. But he wasn't too keen on going there. But if he didn't, and if she stumbled into the tribe's territory without knowing what she was in for.. He mentally sighed.

"Alright. I'll go." He said, deciding to go so Zatanna had some form of protection and awareness.

Zatanna smiled, getting up from her chair and moving to hug him. "Thanks dad."

Giovannini hugged her back, a worried expression on his face. "Your welcome, rabbit."

The announcement of the vacation was unexpected, but they were wished well. Barry made a home about Giovanni needing the sunlight because he was looking kind of pale.

Within the next week they were packing for their vacation, Giovanni saying that wearing t-shirts was the best option for the weather in Turkey this time of year as was shorts due to the summer weather.

They got to the airport, laughing and telling jokes as they entered the plane. The flight was passed by reciting the clouds and other things they were seeing from the plane. Soon they landed, got their bags and walked out of the airport to the hot air that blew to greet them.

"Come on, this way." Giovanni said, remembering his way around the town.

They checked into the hotel, getting two rooms across the hall from one another. It was a lucky beak for them, Zatara noted as they went to their rooms to sleep off the jetleg before exploring a little bit of the city later.
