"McGee, get down to the lab. Get going on it"

"Yes Boss!"

That was the order that set their day off to end in, well, not total disaster, but perhaps McGee being a little scareder (and more respectful) of his boss. A case had needed a little computer genius, and McGee was not loathe to spend time with his girlfriend, although Gibbs did not know about that. They had been dating for a little over a year, and both were surprised el jefe had not caught on yet. He headed down to Abby's lab, feeling like he was going to enjoy this particular part of the case.

"Hey Abs, we need to - omph!"

He was immediately enveloped in an Abby hug, and looked down to see her green eyes staring back at him.

"Hey beautiful. Gibbs needs this decrypted and sorted through." He said, before placing a soft kiss on her lips.

"Well then, we'd better get started then, shouldn't we?"

"I suppose so"

They got settled in, a comfortable silence between them, just the whirr of major mass spec to be heard. There was no music, as the director had confiscated Abby's CD player for a prank Team Gibbs had played on her last week. Suddenly, Abby exclaimed -

"Yes! I'm in!"

"No such luck over here"

"Well, I'll help you then. Four hands are better than two!" She leant over his shoulder and smiled. They both remembered the last time they had done this, when McGee was still a probie and much more nervous. They had both grown so much since then, together and individually. Suddenly Abby jumped up and squealed in excitement. They had done it! Abby grabbed McGee and kissed him. McGee put his arms around her waist and his forehead to hers.

"You're a genius"

"You too, Timmy"

A loud cough interrupted their reverie and they turned, to their dismay, to see an absolutely livid Gibbs. You could almost see the steam coming out if his ears.

"Um... the bank statements are hinky, Boss." Gibbs just grunted. After a prolonged silence, Gibbs said -

"McGee, elevator. Now." The younger agent gulped, and followed obediently, expecting imminent death. As the elevator doors closed ominously, Gibbs squared up to McGee.

"You hurt her, your life becomes a living hell. That clear?" he growled, voice no louder than a whisper.

"Crystal, Boss"

"Good."

He flipped the emergency switch back and pressed the button down to Abby's lab. Both men stepped off the elevator and back into the lab where Abby was waiting, looking worried. Gibbs stepped up to her, gave her a chaste kiss of the cheek, whispered in her ear "Look after him, ok?" and left. They both just stood there, stunned.
