Meg couldn't believe that this was actually happening, the angel shouldn't have jumped in front of her. He shouldn't have taken that dagger for her yet he had. Her, Sam, Dean and Cass had been fighting some demons and one was about to get in a lucky shot, except Cass had been there to take it. The angel was laying on the ground, the angelic blade still in his abdomen. Meg crouched down next to him as she stared at him, disbelief and pain flooded over her. Sam and Dean kept the demons busy, obviously knowing this was a moment for her and him. Castiel reached forward, brushing the tips of his fingers across her cheek. Meg leaned into the touch as she stared at him.

"Oh Clarence, what were you thinking?" She whispered softly and the faintest smile touched his lips.

"The only thing going through my mind was that I had to save you." He murmured. Meg saw the tears escaping from his eyes and she closed her eyes.

"I didn't know angels could cry." Meg whispered softly to him, which caused a soft laugh to escape the dying angel.

"I didn't know demons could cry." He replied, Meg opened her eyes to stare at him. A sad smile tugged at her lips as she stared at him, trying to ignore her own tears.

"Well I guess two things have been proven tonight." Meg replied as she stared at the fastly weakening angel. But he shook his head at the comment, making the action look painful.

"Three." He corrected, making Meg frown and tilt her head to the side as she stard at him.

"Three?" She questioned, but he motioned for her to come closer. Meg leaned down closer to Castiel as he leaned forward, brushing some of the hair behind her ear.

"The third thing is that I would do anything to save you, because I love you Meg." He murmured softly to her. Castiel pulled backward to stare at Meg with those deep blue eyes.

"Do you love me?" He croaked out, his voice failing him for the most part. Meg felt for a moment her host's heart skip a beat. Did she love him? Was it even possible for her to love anyone? Especially an angel, the one thing she was supposed to above all hate? As she stared at him, memories flashed through her mind. Things he said, things he did. Things she said and things she did. Meg knew the answer, even if it was just becoming clear now.

"Yes Castiel, I love you." She murmured. For a moment a light flickered in his eyes and he smiled softly. But a soft sigh escaped him and he relaxed in her arms, and that's when Meg saw it. The two wings burned into the ground behind him. She leaned forward gently pressing her lips to his forhead for a moment before whispering the soft words.

"Don't cry anymore my angel." She murmured softly to him, ignoring the battle around her. All that mattered right now was that her angel was gone, she couldn't have saved him.

"I love you Castiel, I'm sorry." She murmrued softly to him, raising her eyes to the stars as she stared at them still holding him in her arms.
