The days were long past them now and nothing would ever fix it. They were broken, and they hadn't meant to be. But she had come to accept it, feeling as if it were mostly her fault. Though she was unsure of why she had agreed to meet him there. Their new lives were different from what they had lived. But nothing really had gone back to normal after the end of the game.
They were no longer normal, at least from what they knew. The newest world was cleaner, easier for everyone to live on. Of course, they had to make a compromise and they had. The new world did not have room for trolls. While they could walk the newest world forever, she missed the unique appearance being a troll had given her.
She glanced up as the bell on the door jingled, watching the other walk in before he sat in front of her. "Hello," she said, sipping at the tea that had been brought by the waitress.
"Hey there," the other grumbled, shaking his head.
"Karkat, are you really going to act that way? It's been a long time since we've seen each other. Though I suppose we both have changed over the last…couple of years." She grinned.
"Vriska," Karkat grumbled. "You know exactly how long it's been. And…."
"It's the anniversary of the day our friends died?" Vriska asked, shaking her head. "Come on Karkat, we are in our own world now. Why not just convince yourself that you need to start looking at the humans for a little fun? They like to squeal when you cheat them out of the money they work so hard for."
"Vriska," Karkat grumbled. "I've been dealing with Gamzee off and on. I haven't had time to think…"
"You've been thinking about Terezi. Haven't you learned that you just need to let it go?" Vriska said, tossing her D8s up in the air as she sipped her tea.
"I failed them all." Karkat muttered. "How many of us actually survived that fucked up game? And then we create our world with the kids. And then we just totally stop talking to each other. We're fucking gods practically in our own way and yet we sit here sipping tea and just messing around. I want to do something. I want to be able to remember our friends and to do something for them."
"This goes deeper then Terezi, doesn't it?" Vriska sighed. "This won't be easy to get you off the subject either…right?"
"We lost so many of our friends… Nepeta, Tavros, Eridan, Feferi..Equius…just, we destroyed a whole fucking race and then we couldn't even continue it without messing shit up. I'm tired of this. I just want to honor our friends." Karkat grumbled.
Vriska watched him, nodding slowly. "Find a human, have him write a story. Make them know without really knowing what happened. Have them do whatever it takes. Get them to get the whole story. And just let that satisfy you. You can't really do much else."
Karkat nodded slowly, standing up. "I guess I'll do that then." he decided, turning to leave.
"Good luck!" She called with a slight smirk, relaxing with Karkat flipped her off.
