Title: This Better Not Be a Prank

Pairing: Fiolee

Prompt: Bow tie and barn fire

Fionna tugged at her ponytail anxiously awaiting the arrival of the vampire king. She had decided to leave her hat at home for this momentous occasion. Marshall Lee the Vampire King, the infamous trickster vampire, heart-throb of Aaa, had asked little old Fionna the human on a date.

At first she had thought it was some sort of cruel joke. Why would someone as popular as the Vampire King want to take some lowly, plain adventurer on a date when so many more exciting, more experienced girls were pining for his attention. She had replied in what she thought was the appropriate way, she laughed in his face.

Laughed in his face and insulted his clothes to be more exact. She had pointed at his bow tie and asked if he was trying to be Gumball or something. He just frowned, his eyes unreadable and the stems his his outstretched hand became crushed. He turned to leave.

"Marshall? I don't get the joke? Am I supposed to follow you or something?" Fi asked, pausing in her laughter.

"Just forget it." The boy said sharply. Fionna was taken aback. Could he have actually been serious? Her face visibly paled and she ran after him as he took off away from the tree house.

"Marshall!" She called after him, he either didn't hear or didn't care. As she ran after him she came upon a burning barn. Oh great, now she was sure to lose Marshall Lee and glob knows when he would come out of hiding again. A hurt Marshall was much like a hurt cat. After every fight they had, he became prickly and all around antisocial and you had to start the befriending process all over again. She scrubbed her hand over her face and ran towards the burning barn to check for anyone still inside before she continued her chase.

When she reached the barn she fished a water bottle out of her pack and dumped it on her hat and pulled it over her mouth so that she wouldn't get too much smoke in her lungs.

"HELLO?" She cried out and coughed into her hat. "IS ANYBODY STILL THERE?" She dodged a falling beam and landed on the floor surrounded by fire. She heard a long low groan and she jumped to her feet searching around frantically. She heard the moan again and finally she spotted a mess of black hair underneath a fallen beam.

She made her way over and leveraged the beam off the victim only to gasp when she recognized Marshall Lee.

"Just hang in there Marsh" she said and she threw his arm over her shoulder and dragged him to safety. Right as she set him down and flopped down herself the entire barn fell in on itself and sparks flew up in the air.

Marshall stirred and groaned and she smacked him upside the head.

"OW what the stuff Fi?!"

"That's for being stupid! Next time at least get OUT of the barn before you set it on fire." She smacked him again for good measure.

"Ow Fi seriously. How are you the most acclaimed hero around here?" He grumbled some more under his breath.

"Yes!" She blurted out. The vampires head snapped to attention.

"What?"

"Yes, I will go out with you" she said looking away with a hot blush on her face. A happy laugh escaped Marshall and she was relieved.

And that's why tonight she was standing here in a flipping dress without her hat awaiting the most sought after man in all of Aaa, and all she could think was this better not be a flipping prank or she would flip out.
