Gibbs walked into the bullpin after coming back from seeing Abby with her first Caf-Pow and saw that everyone was there but one. Tony. He glanced around hoping to see him. He would never admit but he had a soft spot for the Italian. He was like a surrogate child since Kelly died. He started to get a bad feeling in his gut and he hoped it wasn't about his boy.
"Has anyone seen DiNozzo this morning? He's later than usual." Gibbs asked as he sat down with his coffee.
"No, Boss. Last time I seen him was last night when we were going home." McGee said while looking up at Gibbs.
"Same. Do you think something happened to Tony?" Ziva glanced at Tony's desk. Gibbs of course noticed.
"I don't know yet Ziver. McGee, call Tony. If he doesn't answer either phone trace his cell." Gibbs barked as he stood and walked toward the stairs.
"Where are you going Boss?" McGee asked as he picked up the phone.
"Directors office McGee to warn him we may have a missing agent. Now do your job!" He growled as he took the steps two at a time.
"Told you he cares." McGee said as he hung up his phone to call Tony's cell.
"I never said he didn't. And anyway why are you calling him before you trace him?" Ziva asked as she walked over to McGee.
"Rule three. Tony and Gibbs both take that rule seriously and if Tony doesn't answer it normally means he is in trouble." McGee said starting to get really worried. He just tried Tony's cell and it was busy. Either he was on it or it's on and just dial tone.
"What is it?" Ziva asked as she noticed him lose color in his face.
"He's not answering." He said as he turned to his computer to trace Tony's phone. It didn't take too long since it was on but the bad news was that it was showing up in Tony's apartment. "Oh this is bad."
"What's bad McGee?" Gibbs asked and McGee thought that he always knew when the right time to come in was. He looked up from his computer and noticed Vance was behind him. McGee took a deep breath before answering.
"Tony's not answering his phone and when traced it was fairly easy as it's on and it traces to his apartment. You know how big Tony is on rule three Boss."
"I know McGee." He said and looked at Tony's desk. This couldn't be happening again.
"What's rule three?" Vance asked looking at Gibbs's team.
"Never be unreachable. And Tony and Gibbs are the ones that support that the most. It shows if you can't be reached you are in trouble. And since it's Tony…" Ziva said and didn't even finish the sentence. Everyone knew what it meant. Somehow Tony had found trouble, again.
