Chapter 1: Welcome to a New World

-Sunset Beach, Day Time-

On a small beach in the Pokemon World, the Krabby were seen blowing their bubbles toward the sky and some were talking to one another. But, along the beach line, a Pokemon was seen passed out on its back near the spot where the tide comes in. The Pokemon turned out to be a Riolu. The little canine Pokemon could feel the water hit 'em each time the tide came in, which made 'em shake a bit and slowly open its big red eyes and gaze at the clear blue sky.

He groaned a bit as he pushed himself up with his paws and gazed out at the ocean.

"Where... Where am I? How did I...? How did I get here?" he asked, and by the sound of the kid-like voice, the Riolu was a boy, "Wait... I don't even remember what I did before I got here. What did I...?"

But before he could finish his sentence, he got a look at his right paw and was shocked by it. Then he look at his left paw, and was even more shocked as he brought them both to his face, also noticing how his arms were different too. Then he looked down at his legs and body and was again shocked. Then he stood up and noticed that he was standing on his toes and not his entire foot, shocking him even more. And lastly, he noticed he had a tail behind him too, again shocking him.

"What the...?! What happened to me?!" he exclaimed, "Wait... What in the world did happen to me?! I can't remember!"

Just as he placed both paws on his head, he noticed even his head somehow felt different. But before he said anything about it, he looked over at the ocean and noticed how close he was to it. Tempted to see what he looked like, he cautiously took a step toward the water. But when he got closer, he closed his eyes.

Do I dare to look? he thought as he then slowly opened his eyes and saw his whole body in the water's reflection, and was surprised, "N-No way... It can't be..."

Then he took a look at his paws again, then his legs, then his tail, and then back at his reflection, even noticing the the yellow collar on his neck and the two aura sensors on the sides of his head.

"Did I...? Did I really become... a Riolu?" he asked himself, "But... how? I don't even remember!"

Frustrated, he placed both paws on his head again and closed his eyes tight, trying to remember how he became a Riolu.

"Think...! How did this happen to me?!" He exclaimed, but then, he suddenly opened his eyes and felt a small jolt go through his head, and saw an image of a black haired human boy in his mind. After seeing that, he brought his paws back in front of him and calmed down a bit.

"That's right... Now I remember. I use to be a human," he stated as he clenched his paws a few times, feeling them out, "But, that doesn't explain how I ended up as a Riolu? How did this happen to me?"

Again, he placed both paws on his head, closed his eyes tight and shook in frustration, trying to think how he turned from a human boy into a Riolu. But then, he reopened his eyes and remembered that jolt in his head he felt a second ago.

"Wait a minute, that feeling..." he said, "When I felt that, I remembered I was human."

He then dropped his arms and looked over at a nearby boulder and got an idea.

"Maybe if I feel it again, I might remember how I turned into a Riolu. Maybe..." He said as he walked over and placed his paws on the boulder. But, he hesitated for a moment and started having second thoughts.

But, what if this doesn't work? he thought, And if it does, what if I don't like what I remember? What if...? ...Oh for crying out loud, I'm just gonna do it.

Tired of thinking about it, he started banging his head on the boulder multiple times, hoping he'll remember something again. But as he banged his head, two Krabby were watching him from a distance and were confused by what he was doing.

"Well that's odd," one of the Krabby said, "Wonder what he's doing?"

"I don't know, but that Riolu sure seems weird." The other Krabby answered.

As Riolu kept banging his head on the boulder, on the other side of it, a Kingler was sleeping in the shallow water. But as Riolu banged the boulder, some of the pebbles on top of it fell on Kingler, irritating 'em a little. But then, a rock was moving closer and closer toward the edge of the boulder, and with one more bang, it fell and landed on top of Kingler, surprising 'em as it fell of 'em, leaving a small bump on its head, angering 'em.

"Hey... Who doing that?" Kingler asked as he opened his eyes, then he looked over the side of the boulder and noticed Riolu banging his head still, which angered 'em.

Then, Kingler slowly dived underwater and went around the boulder to where Riolu was. Then, after multiple bangs, Riolu finally gave up and put both paws on his now red forehead, feeling the pain a bit.

"Well, that didn't work," he said, "All I got out of that was a headache. Literally."

Just as he turned and took a couple steps away from the boulder, suddenly, Kingler jumped out of the water and landed in front of him, making a loud thud on the sandy beach, which shocked Riolu as he took his paws off his head and looked to see the angry Kingler, shocking him even more as he took a step back.

"W-Whoa...! A... K-Kinlger?!" he asked in terror as he took another step back, but then Kingler slammed his giant claw in the sand, shaking the ground, making Riolu slip and fall on his back. He manage to get back up on his toes, but only to see Kingler taking a step toward him, scaring him a little. "Gah... W-What do you want?"

When he asked that, Kingler pointed his smaller claw at him, and then at the boulder, and then the bump on his head.

"You...! Boulder...! Rock fall...! On head...!" Kingler exclaimed, and when Riolu heard that, he was shocked as he looked at the boulder for a second, then back at Kingler, growing a guilty smile.

"Oops... Sorry about that," he apologized, "It was an accident, I swear."

However, Kingler was still upset as he raised his giant claw above him, shocking Riolu as he swung it down toward him. Seeing it coming, Riolu quickly turned and ran for dear life. But then, Kingler slammed his giant claw on the ground, shaking it, causing Riolu to slip and fall on his front, his head in the sand. As Kingler slowly made his way toward Riolu, he took his head out of the sand and spit some of it out as he got back up on his toes.

"Blew... I'll take that as apology not accepted," He said as he turned to see Kingler again, surprising him as Kingler then fired out a Bubble Beam from his mouth at Riolu, surprising him again as he shielded himself with his arms from the fast moving bubbles hitting him.

As the bubbles hit Riolu, Kingler's giant claw glowed, about to use Crab Hammer. Then he swung it at Riolu on his left side, surprising him as he was sent flying toward rocky walls screaming as he impacted it on his back, feeling the pain go through his body as he let out another loud scream. Then he fell off the rocky wall and landed in the sand on his front. Despite the pain, Riolu manage to push himself up.

"Gah... Can this get any worse?" he asked himself as he got back on his toes, shaken a bit from the pain, but then he noticed Kingler coming for him again, shocking him again, "Nope...! Can't get any worse than this!"

As Kingler closed-in on him, Riolu backed up as much as he could until his back was against the rocky wall. Seeing Kingler's angered expression as he grew closer toward him, Riolu shook in fright. Then he closed his eyes tight, turned his head to the side, and prepared for whatever Kinlger had next for him.

But just as Kingler's giant claw glowed and was about to swing another Crab Hammer at him, suddenly, a four-legged creature jumped out above Riolu and its right front claw glowed dark purple and it slashed a Shadow Claw at Kingler, surprising him as his Crab Hammer was canceled and he skid back a bit, feeling the sting of the attack. When the four-legged creature landed in the sand, it was revealed to be an Absol.

When Riolu noticed that he wasn't hit yet, he reopened his eyes and saw Absol in front of him, surprising him.

"No... No way...! An... An Absol?!" He asked.

When Kingler had recovered from that surprise attack, he glared at Absol, but Absol kept its calm and collected expression at him.

"Hey...! That hurt!" Kingler stated as he took a step closer toward Absol.

"Hmph... If you're smart, then you'd leave right now." Absol stated in a deep male voice, but Kingler didn't listened and he suddenly fired a Bubble Beam at him.

Seeing the attack coming, Riolu was shocked, but Absol wasn't fazed. He moved his head to side and his horn glowed, then he fired out a Razor Wind at the bubbles, colliding with them and the two attacks canceled each other and created an explosion. But as Kingler was confused by the steam cloud in front of him, Absol suddenly jumped out of it in, surprising him as he slashed him with another Shadow Claw, sending him sliding back further in pain toward the water.

"Whoa...!" Riolu exclaimed as he took a couple steps away from the wall, "Amazing!"

But then, Kingler recovered again from the sudden blow and again glared in anger at Absol, while he kept his calm expression, making Kingler growl irritably.

"I take it that you're not very smart, aren't you?" Absol asked, but that angered Kingler as he suddenly jumped toward Absol, his giant claw raised up and glowed, and was about to swing a Crab Hammer at him.

However, Absol looked up and saw the attack coming as Kingler swung his claw at him, but Absol jumped back just in time and Kingler slammed his claw in the sand instead. Then, when Absol landed back on the ground, he opened his mouth and fired out a Dark Pulse toward Kingler, surprising him as he was hit square on by it and it exploded in front of him, sending him flying back and land in the shallow water on his back in pain.

Kingler tried to get back up, but the sting of the attack went through him, so he passed out instead. Seeing this, Riolu was again shocked as he took another step closer, while Absol raised his chin up at the knocked out Kingler.

"Hmph... He had that much strength, yet he can't even use it properly," Absol stated, "What a shame."

"Wow... He's strong," Riolu said, catching Absol's attention as he turned and gazed at Riolu, shocking him as he took a step back, "Oh great, now what is he gonna do?"

But then, Absol leaped toward Riolu, surprising him as he landed in front of him and gazed down at him, his shadow covering the little canine while he took another step back in fright. Then, Absol turned to his side at him.

"Get on." Absol said, surprising Riolu as he looked up at his face.

"W-What...?" Riolu asked, but then Absol motioned his head toward the knocked out Kingler and then back to him.

"I said, get on," Absol answered, "And do it quickly before he decides to get back up."

Hearing that, Riolu didn't know what to do. But when he looked over at Kingler, and then back at Absol, he got a serious look and nod in reply. Then he climbed up on Absol's back and then Absol sprinted along the beach and jumped up the rocky wall, while Riolu held on tight as they headed into the nearby forest.

Meanwhile, the two Krabby watched the whole thing and were shocked by everything.

"What in the world just happened?!" One of the Krabby asked.

"I have no idea, but that sure was crazy!" The other Krabby answered, shaking his arms around, stating how crazy everything was.

-Green Trail Forest, Day Time-

After they've left the beach, Absol ran through the forest with Riolu still holding on tight to his back. As Absol ran, three Spinarak watched them go by, hanging upside down like the spiders they were, and a Tranquill was seen flying pass them above the trees in the opposite direction. Once Absol made it onto the forest trail, he stopped to catch his breath and looked around.

"Okay, you can get off now." Absol said, and Riolu did just that and slid off him and landed back on the ground on his toes and smiled at him.

"Hey um, thanks for saving me back there." Riolu thanked, catching Absol's attention as he looked back at him and smiled.

"Don't mention it," Absol replied, but then looked away from him and grew a serious look, "Besides, I had my reasons for saving you."

Hearing that, Riolu was surprised as Absol walked away from him.

"What...? What do you mean?" Riolu asked.

"Well, what I mean is, I know you use to be a human." Absol stated, but his answer shocked Riolu greatly as he quickly ran toward Absol and stood in front of him, stopping him from walking any further and looked down at the little canine.

"You knew I use to be human?! How?" Riolu asked.

"That's a bit hard to explain, but what I do know is that you were once human and how you came to be in this world." Absol answered, which shocked Riolu again.

"Wait... You do?!" Riolu asked as he took a step closer toward him, "Then, could you please tell me how this happened to me?"

"If I were to tell you, you may not like what you'll hear." Absol answered, but Riolu just showed his paws at him for some reason.

"Please, I really need to know how I became a Pokemon. Look at these, I have paws, not hands!" Riolu stated, then he started rambling on about his new body, "And I think I'm like the half the height I use to be! Not to mention my voice, I sound like a kid! Or at least I think I use to be kid, but still!"

"Alright, I'll tell you if you just calm down," Absol replied, and Riolu did what he said and took a deep breath and calmed down before looking back at him, "Now there's no easier way for me to tell you this, so I'll just go out and say it. You... You died."

Upon hearing that, Riolu was shocked out of mind. He took a step back, shaken by that answer.

"What...?" Riolu asked, "What do you mean... I... died?"

"That's hard to explain, but its the truth." Absol answered, closing his eyes at Riolu.

"No, that can't be it!" Riolu exclaimed, then he brought both his paws to his face, "If I'm really dead, then how come I'm still here? Well, technically I'm a Pokemon now, so how does that make sense? Or maybe I'm just dreaming this! Maybe that's it."

Then Riolu took his right paw and pinched his left arm, while Absol watched him with a calm expression. After pinching himself, Riolu stood still with his eyes closed for a second, then reopened them to still see Absol in front of him.

"Okay, this isn't a dream," Riolu said, "But it still doesn't make sense! I died as a human, but now I'm here as a Pokemon?! But, if I'm remembering this right, I thought if you die, you go to heaven, but this doesn't look like heaven at all! Or is it?"

"Are you finished?" Absol asked, catching Riolu's attention as he looked at him and then nod in reply.

"Y-Yeah... I think so." Riolu answered.

"Good... Now listen, its hard to explain, but the thing is, you did die, but apparently fate had other plans for you." Absol stated, which surprised Riolu at first, but then he crossed his arms and looked up at the sky.

"Oh... I see, so fate had something to do with me becoming a Pokemon, that makes total sense," Riolu replied a bit sarcastically, then he looked back at Absol, "You know, you could have just said that before I started rambling on earlier."

"I could have, but I doubt that would've stopped you." Absol replied, which upset Riolu a bit.

"You don't know that," Riolu pouted, but then he thought of something else as he uncrossed his arms, "Wait, if you knew I died, then do you know exactly how I died?"

"Well, um... you see, that's also hard to explain," Absol answered, but then he took a few steps toward Riolu, surprising him, "Perhaps its better to show you."

Hearing that, Riolu was again surprised as Absol closed his eyes and the center of his forehead glowed and shot out a beam at Riolu's forehead, shocking him as he felt another jolt go through his head, just like back at the beach.

When he did, he started to see images of the same human boy on a small ship in the ocean and a fierce storm came and he and his Dad were trying to tie everything down on the ship. Unfortunately, the tides kept rocking the ship so much that he slipped and fell overboard. And what was most surprising that a whirlpool somehow formed around him, sucking him inside until he was gone.

When the images were done playing in his head, Absol's forehead stopped glowing and the light beam faded, and Riolu took a second to himself to take in all he had seen and look down at the ground.

"I get it... I understand it now. How I died," Riolu said, then he looked back up at Absol, "My Dad and I were trying to brace everything for the storm, but the tides were to strong and it rocked the ship and then I fell overboard. And then that whirlpool showed up, and then I... I... I think I drowned."

"That's just it, you did," Absol replied, "But I'm afraid there's more to it than that."

Hearing that, Riolu was surprised again as he took a step closer toward Absol.

"Now what do you mean?" Riolu asked, "And how exactly do you even know all of this?"

"Now that is very difficult for me to explain, and its much to early for me to tell you anyway." Absol answered, which confused Riolu.

"What does that mean?" Riolu asked again, but Absol just sighed and then walked pass Riolu.

"You'll know in do time," Absol answered, "But, for now, I suggest you enjoy fate's little gift to you."

Hearing that, Riolu was confused as he looked back down at the ground, thinking about what Absol just mention about fate.

A... gift? Riolu thought as Absol stopped walking and took a second to look back at Riolu.

"Are you coming?" Absol asked.

Hearing Absol's question, Riolu snapped out of his thoughts, turned around toward him, and nod in reply. Then he sprinted after him as Absol continued walking along the trail, while Riolu stopped and walked beside him on his right.

As they walked further along the forest trail, a Pansear was seen jumping from branch to branch nearby, laughing while a Pansage and Panpour were chasing 'em, laughing as well, which caught Riolu's attention as he noticed them disappear into the trees. Upon seeing them, he smiled and then brought both his paws to his face.

"You know, in a way, I guess this isn't all bad," Riolu stated as he made fist with his paws, "Its actually kinda cool to be a Pokemon, and especially a Riolu. Now how did fate know I like this Pokemon so much?"

Hearing that, Absol was quite fascinated by how well Riolu knew so much about Pokemon. He didn't even properly introduced himself at first, but the little canine was already able to identify who he was.

"Interesting... For a former human, you seem to know quite a lot about us Pokemon." Absol stated, catching Riolu's attention as he dropped his arms.

"Well, you see, if I'm remembering this right, the world where I was from, you guys were sorta like... fictional," Riolu stated, catching Absol's attention as he looked at him.

"That's funny, because in our world, you humans are the fictional ones." Absol stated back with a smile.

"Wow... How am I not surprised?" Riolu asked sarcastically with his eyes closed, while Absol turned his head to the front and Riolu reopened his eyes.

"But answer this," Absol said, catching Riolu's attention as he turned his head at him, while he looked down at him, "Do I look fictional to you now? More importantly, do you look fictional now?"

Upon hearing that, Riolu was a bit stun by the question. First he looked at Absol closely, and then he looked back at his paws again. Then he dropped his arms, looked back at Absol, and smiled embarrassingly with his eyes closed.

"No... Not really," Riolu answered, then he reopened his eyes and looked down at the ground with a serious look, remembering his encounter with Kingler earlier, "Believe me, I know just how real this is now."

Then he flashed back to when Kingler attacked him and how real the pain was. If it weren't for Absol coming at the last minute, he probably wouldn't be standing right now he thought.

"Well, at least you know that now, that's what matters," Absol stated, which made Riolu look up at him again and nod in reply, "Still, your knowledge on us Pokemon is quite fascinating."

Hearing that, Riolu was surprised at first, but then he smiled and brought both his paws to his face again.

"Yeah, I know," Riolu replied, "Its kinda weird though, because I don't exactly remember how I know."

"Even if you don't know how you know, its good to know that not all of your memories were taken." Absol stated, which made Riolu drop his arms, turn his head at him, close his eyes, and smiled.

"Yeah... That's so true." Riolu replied, then he reopened his eyes and continued gazing forward.

"Now that you know what you are, do you know what kind of Pokemon type you are?" Absol asked.

"Of course I do," Riolu replied, making fist with his paws and did an air punch with his right one, "Everyone knows that Riolu is a fighting-type. And I know that you're a dark-type. Am I right?"

"Yes, you are," Absol answered, which made Riolu close his eyes and smiled as he dropped his arms again, "Now answer this... Do you know your own moves? And also, do you even know how to use them?"

Upon hearing that, Riolu was surprised as he looked at Absol again, then he grew an embarrassed smile and his eyes closed at him.

"No... Not really," Riolu answered, "I don't know."

"That's not surprising," Absol replied, "But don't worry, you'll know them and how to use them in do time."

"What...?" Riolu asked, "You mean you're not gonna tell me or show me how to use my own moves?"

"Well, for one, I don't know what moves you know, and second, it would take to long to show you how to use them," Absol answered, which confused Riolu, "But don't worry, like I said, you'll know how to use them in do time. The key to using your moves is through your feelings."

"Through my feelings?" Riolu asked as he stopped in the middle of trail while Absol kept going, then he sighed toward the ground with his eyes closed, "That's not very helpful at all. What does that even mean?"

But then, Riolu realized he wasn't getting any feedback from Absol. He reopened his eyes and looked up to see him keep on walking, which surprised him. So he quickly sprinted after him and stood by his side again, looking up at him.

"Trust me, you'll know soon." Absol said, which still made Riolu confused, but then he got another question.

"Okay...? By the way, where are we going?" Riolu asked.

"Its not where we're going, its where you're going," Absol answered, which confused Riolu, "I'm taking you to a nearby town for Pokemon, but once we're there, that's where I must leave you."

"What...?! You mean you're just gonna dump me there?" Riolu asked, which made Absol look at him.

"Its not that I want to, I just simply can't go there." Absol answered, confusing Riolu again.

"But, why not?" Riolu asked, while Absol looked back ahead.

"I have my reasons, but don't let that bother you, okay?" Absol replied, but Riolu still didn't get it.

"Okay... I guess," Riolu said as he turned his head forward, but then he looked down at the ground with a sad expression, "But... still..."

"Don't think of it like that," Absol said, "Think of it as the start of your new life as a Pokemon. Its a nice town, and who knows, you might make a friend or two there."

Hearing that, Riolu looked back up at him with a confused look.

"How would you know that?" Riolu asked.

"I don't, its just my thought is all." Absol answered.

"Well, okay... If you say so," Riolu said as he looked back ahead, but sill was unsure about this.

"Believe me, I know so," Absol replied, "We'll be there in a few minutes, but before we do, I'd like to explain a couple more things to you."

Hearing that, Riolu then looked back at Absol and listened to what he had to say.

"Like what?" Riolu asked.

"Well, for one, I strongly advice that you don't tell any other Pokemon that you were once human," Absol stated, which surprised Riolu, "If any other Pokemon were to hear that, they could think you're crazy, or maybe worse. To be honest, who knows what they'll think."

For a moment, Riolu pondered about that as he put his left paw under his chin and thought hard on it. After a few seconds, he dropped his arm and looked back ahead.

"Yeah, you're right," Riolu replied, then he looked down at the ground again, "Besides, I doubt any other Pokemon would believe me anyway."

Hearing that, Absol nodded his head in agreement, but then Riolu brought both his paws again in front of his face.

"Still, I wish I knew exactly who I was before I became a Pokemon," Riolu said, "I saw what I was, but not who I was."

"Well, no matter who you were before, that's over now," Absol replied, catching Riolu's attention as he dropped his arms and looked back at him, "What matters is what you're going to be. You're a Pokemon now... A Riolu, that's who you are. What you make of it and what you decide to do is entirely up to you."

Hearing that, Riolu was surprised, but he understood what Absol was saying. He knew his old life was over, and now he had a chance to start a new one, and how he does it is completely up to him. He looked again at himself and thought about that, then he looked back at Absol and nod in reply with a serious look.

"Yeah, you're right," Riolu replied, then he looked back ahead and brought both his paws to his face again and smiled, "And like I said before, this isn't so bad. After all, Riolu is one of my favorites. I think I can make this work."

"That's the spirit," Absol said with a smile, but then he grew a serious look again, "But, I suggest you keep your knowledge on us Pokemon as low as possible. You never know what attention you might draw."

Hearing that, Riolu dropped his arms, looked back at Absol, closed his eyes, and smiled at him.

"Yeah well, now you don't worry," Riolu replied, "I got that part under control."

However, Absol had a hard time believing that while Riolu reopened his eyes and looked back ahead, still smiling and getting a little more distance from Absol, while Absol closed his eyes and secretly sighed to himself.

I seriously doubt that... Absol thought.

-Green Trail Forest, Near Greenway Town, Day Time-

After a few more minutes of walking, Riolu sprinted toward a hill ahead, and when he got to the top he looked out and made a big smile when he saw the clear blue sky and a flock of Tailow flying by, the mountains in the background, along with more forest, and a town a little ways below. He could even see the ocean on his far left. He then looked down at the town and was amazed by how big it was.

"Wow... Look at that town," Riolu said as Absol slowly walked up and stood near his left and gazed down at the town with him, "Its much bigger then I thought."

"Its about average for us Pokemon," Absol stated, catching Riolu's attention as he looked at him with a confused look, "Its known as Greenway Town. Why they call it that? Mainly because of the lush green forests surrounding it, as you can see."

Hearing that, Riolu looked around and he noticed there were two other trails below from the town leading into more forest. Now he understood what Absol was saying.

"Oh... I get it now," Riolu replied, "That makes sense."

But then, Riolu noticed a small building a little ways from the town along the cliff near the ocean, which made him curious.

That's odd... Riolu thought, Wonder why that building is over there and not in the town?

"Now, I'm afraid this is where I must leave you." Absol stated as he looked at Riolu, snapping him out of this thoughts and looked back at him with a sad expression.

"Really...? Are you sure you can't come?" Riolu asked, but Absol only shook his head in reply.

"I'm sorry, but I can't," Absol answered as he looked back at the town below, "Its a bit... complicated."

Hearing that, Riolu turned his head back at the town, still sad that Absol wasn't coming with him. But then, he turned back toward him, catching his attention again.

"Well then, before you go, is it possible that you can give me back more of my memories?" Riolu asked, "I'd really like to know a little more about myself at least."

"I'm afraid I cannot do that either," Absol answered, "I'm just not that powerful. I can only show you how you died, and that's it."

Hearing that, Riolu was disappointed by that answer as Absol then turned around and started walking off from him, but not before looking back at Riolu again, catching his attention as he turned toward him.

"After all, I'm know as the Disaster Pokemon, and what I've shown you was simply your disaster." Absol stated.

"My disaster...?" Riolu asked as he took a second to ponder on that, but then he got what Absol was saying as he smirked, had his eyes half opened, and pointed at him with his right paw finger, "Oh... I see what you did there."

"So you have..." Absol replied with a smile, then turned forward and looked serious again.

But then, Riolu thought of something else he had to ask.

"By the way, one last question... What if I were to bring up the fact that I use to be human to another Pokemon?" Riolu asked, catching Absol's attention as he looked back at him again.

"That's a question that even I don't have an answer to," Absol answered, which brought a little disappointment to Riolu as Absol turned his head back in front of him, "But, if you wan't my advice, I suggest that you only tell those that you feel that you can truly trust. Understand?"

Hearing that, Riolu nod in reply and smiled.

"Yeah... I understand." Riolu replied.

"Good..." Absol said as he walked back down the trail, leaving Riolu, "I wish you the best."

As Riolu watched as Absol walked away, he stood still for a moment and then sighed with his eyes close toward the ground. Then he reopened them and turned around to look at the town below the hill. He didn't know what to expect down there, but it was the only place he could go at the moment. He then brought both his paws again to his face and thought about his old human self and how he died. Then, he dropped his arms, gazed back at the town, and then sighed with his eyes closed again before reopening them.

"Well... Guess I better get going then," Riolu said as he walked down the hill and headed for Greenway Town, "I wonder what will happen to me down there?"

But as Riolu walked down the hill and to town, Absol secretly went back and watched him go. He stood their for a moment with the gentle breeze of the wind blowing against his shiny white fur, then he looked up at the sky and thought about something. He remembered he told Riolu there was more to the story than just him dying and then being turned into a Pokemon, which made him close his eyes and thought about it.

Fate... Absol thought as he saw an image of the same human boy Riolu use to be in his head making a wish upon a glowing star in the night sky a few days before he and his Dad set out on the ship. When he did, he slowly reopened his crimson color eyes. You sure have a strange way of working, don't you?

He then looked back down at Riolu, thinking back on the moments they just had. Even though they were short, he actually liked the young canine boy and grew a smile.

Hmph... Absol thought as he closed his eyes, and then, suddenly, he started to disappear into the wind, like a ghost and leaving leafs blowing in the current, We'll see each other again, someday. Until then, I bid you farewell.

As Absol blew away with the wind, Riolu kept walking down the trail to Greenway Town, thinking about what might happen to him when he gets there. He use to be a human boy, and now he was Riolu. Thinking that, he stopped for a second and looked up at the sky and noticed the wind current with the leafs. He watched if for a moment and then continued down the trail. The start... of a new beginning.

A life of a Pokemon, huh... He thought as the wind current with the leafs were seen one last time in the sky, Guess I'll find out what that's all about."

At the end of the chapter...

Back at Sunset Beach, those two Krabby were in the same spots as before as one of them looked at the other.

"Hey, you know what I just realized..." One of the Krabby said, catching the other's attention.

"What?" The other Krabby asked.

"We didn't get that very many lines in this chapter." The other Krabby stated.

"We got some now, don't we?" The other Krabby asked back, which made the other ponder on that and then realized what he meant.

"Oh yeah, good point." The other Krabby replied with his eyes closed in satisfaction.

Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my first Pokemon story. I just wanna say a few things here. First of all, I know what you're probably thinking, Riolu is an overused Pokemon, and I know that. But, personally, I like Riolu and I really wanted to use him.

Second, I know some authors like to name the Pokemon in their Mystery Dungeon stories most of the time, but I'm not very good at that to tell the truth. It makes me a bit confused most of the time reading it like that. Sometimes I forget who is what Pokemon and stuff, so I decided not to do that for this, just to let you all know.

Lastly, I don't care if you review or not. One way or another, I plan to keep going on this story, even if I get a bad review. The whole reason I'm doing is to share my creative stories with you all, and no matter what, that's what I'm going to do. But, you can R&R if you like. To be honest, I'd like to at least know how my story was and it be great to hear about it. But, either way, it doesn't matter really. Its your choice...

Anyway, thanks for reading and we'll see you all next time. *My Lucario pops out and stands beside me and he says good-bye and we wave farewell to you* See ya later! :)
