It's like when you're in the dark. Pitch black, consuming darkness.
As soon as the lights are turned on… You're blinded. And, the only thing you can see is the outline. The dark, outline of HIM.
In this case, as soon as she realized her feelings for him, she was blinded. Whenever he was around, she saw only HIM. The feelings she felt where overwhelming, over-powering even. And the light was the brightest she had ever seen. It was the light of… Hope? No, something very similar. Love. It was a feeling she wanted to treasure forever.
Somebody had turned on the lights.
