Hideout, New York, Easter Sunday.
It was Easter Sunday before Charlie died, her and Aveline had created Easter baskets for all of us. Nico and I raced passed everyone as we left our rooms, we ran ahead of the boys too getting responses from Neal and Mike. Our enthusiasm made Vanessa laugh and confused Castiel.
"Why are you guys in a hurry," said Cas.
"Because the Easter Bunny brought us gifts," said Uly, she was staying with us at the time with Robin and Caterina. It was obviously before Caterina's death.
"That's right, Girlie," said Robin ruffling her hair, "Go see what he brought."
"Hey Jay," said Neal tossing me a packet of jelly bellies, "Find the popcorn ones and separate the flavours."
"I will," of course I will jelly beans are the best.
Cas walked up to me as I was setting out the candy, "What is the Easter Bunny and why are those beans strange colors?"
I laughed, "Cas these are jelly beans they're a type of candy. They only look like beans and the Easter Bunny is a bunny that brings baskets full of stuff for the kids as a gift. I'll pull up a Wiki page on it."
"Easter is the resurrection of Christ not a day where you celebrate a rodent."
"People have the Easter Bunny and still go to Mass," I started to whisper, "It's the parents that make the baskets, Easter bunnies are the cover story we use."
"Why bunnies," he whispered.
"Spring time," I finished sorting the beans.
"You have them separated?"
"Yeah Dean."
"Alright let's do this," everyone came to the table and took one of every flavour.
"Here Cas," I said handing him the candy.
"What do I do with this?"
"Eat them one at a time," I said.
"Um…"
"Just do it, I'll be right back," I went to my room and printed Wikipedia's article on Easter and gave it to Cas when I came back.
"What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Read it," I put my hand on his shoulder, "Happy Easter Buddy."
