They had spent the day in court trying to decide whether it was okay to take someone off of life support if there brains did not contain the ability to live on it's own.

Olivia turned to Elliot, "If I ended up like that, would you turn me off?"

Elliot looked at her, and sighed, "I don't know if I'd have it in me to just turn off the machines that keep you alive"

She watched him, "Why not?"

Elliot ran his hand through his hair, "Because I love you Olivia and it would mean killing you, and I would never do that to you, I would hold onto the hope that you would be okay"

She smiled and kissed him, "I love you too but please, don't let me live like that"

He sighed again, and held her tightly, "Hopefully I'll never have to make that decision, but if I ever do, I promise you, I'll do what you want"

She kissed him again, "Thank you El"

Elliot smiled, "No problem"

He held her tightly, silently praying that he would never have to make that decision.
