AN: Slightly random idea that was inspired by my review for Shocklance's BLAST.
When Elizabeth Hale got up in the morning and went to breakfast, the first thing she noticed was that the coat of her daughter Cornelia was hanging up on the coat stand.
"Perhaps she can explain how she was at least THREE hours over curfew last night." Elizabeth murmured to herself in annoyance. Elizabeth's annoyance was certainly justified. Having waited for her daughter to get home from Irma's eighteenth birthday party, Elizabeth had stayed up until two in the morning, before going to bed.
"Hi mom, can I wake Corny today?" Lillian asked excitedly as she bounced into the kitchen. Elizabeth was about to say yes when she noticed something that wiped the newly formed smile off her face. Sitting firmly on the coat hanger was the coat of Caleb, the boy who'd broken her daughters heart some six months ago when they broke up.
"No sweetie, I think I have something to say to your sister privately." Elizabeth told Lillian, who widened her eyes.
"Is this about sex?" Lillian asked. Seeing the shocked expression on her mothers face, Lillian rolled her eyes. "Mom, I'm nine years old, nearly ten. I'm not a little girl anymore."
Elizabeth shook her head in amusement. And perhaps a little concern. "Lillian, that's a conversation we'll be having later."
Elizabeth knocked hard on Cornelia's door, before bursting in as her daughter sat upright, pulling a sheet over her clearly naked body. The room had the distinct post-sex smell to it.
"Mom!" Cornelia exclaimed in surprise, blushing bright red. "This isn't what it looks lik-"
Elizabeth cut her off. "It seems pretty obvious what's happened. I don't exp-"
Suddenly Elizabeth was lost for words as the second figure in the bed sat up and faced her. Short, curly brunette hair and light blue eyes in a heart-shaped face looked at her from a firmly female face.
"Mrs Hale, Corny and I are in love." Irma stated unflinchingly. Elizabeth continued to stare in shock, her mind not fully comprehending what she was seeing. "We were planning on telling you in a different way." Irma continued, starting to blush.
"Oh. Ok. I'll talk to you later Cornelia about curfew." Elizabeth said in a stunned voice and turned to walk away.
"Mom, are you okay?" Lillian asked as her mom stepped into the kitchen and sat down, her face still shocked.
"Fine, fine." Elizabeth replied and then she started to laugh. "Just a little surprised, that's all."
Meanwhile, in Cornelia's bed, Cornelia looked into Irma's eyes. "We're probably going to have to tell your parents about this now, you know." Irma nodded and Cornelia continued. "Bet she thought I had Caleb in here at first. I told you not to bring his coat."
"Hey it was cold out and he did offer!" Irma protested. Cornelia opened her mouth to further argue her case when Irma's lips met hers and Cornelia lost her train of thought as they fell back onto her bed.
AN: Okay fluffy, but hey I love this pairing.
