Five things you've never done

"ok, Moony. Now that we've had this delicious dinner, we can talk!", Sirius said, stretching on the couch.

"Talk? About what?", Remus smirked at him, lowering himself on the floor.

"About… Anything, mate!", Padfoot exclaimed joyfully. "Birds, presents… Uhh… What did you buy me?", he added curiously.

Remus laughed at his friend's childish outburst.

"I won't tell you, Pads.", he said, eyeing the Christmas tree thoughtfully. "Not until midnight."

"Oh, well. I'll wait. I can wait… Hey, Moons, did you buy me a book? Did you? Huh? Did you?"

"Sirius, stop it! I won't tell you."

"I'll call James to tell me. You know, he's my best mate. He'll tell me everything.", Sirius said, accenting the word "everything".

"You wouldn't?", Remus asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Oh, yes… I would indeed.", Sirius grinned devilishly.

"Then, I'll have no other choice but to hex you. You wouldn't like to go around with a pink tail, now would you?"

"You wouldn't!"

"Oh, I would."

"Fine.", grumbled Sirius. "Then, tell me, what are the five things you've never done?"

"Five things?", Remus narrowed his eyebrows in concentration. "Well… I've never been to Caribbean."

"We'll have to take care of that."

"I've never lied to you or James."

"That's a nice one.", Padfoot smiled warmly. "What about Worms?"

"Depends on the occasion.", Remus shrugged innocently.

"ok, what else?"

"I've never tried to kill a man."

"Are you sure?", the black-haired wizard teased.

"Padfoot…", Remus growled threateningly.

"Sorry. Go on."

"I've never wanted to leave Hogwarts.", Remus sighed sadly. "It's not really the thing I've never done, but… It's something I didn't want to do."

Sirius smiled sympathetically. He looked at the old clock on the wall.

"It's time! Ten, nine, eight, seven, six…", he started to count, goofy smile on his handsome face.

"… Five, four, three, two, one! Merry Christmas, Pads!", Remus smiled, pulling his best friend in tight embrace.

"Merry Christmas, Moons.", Sirius grinned.

Remus closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them, Sirius wasn't there, and there was no shiny Christmas tree in the room. It was dark and cold night. The cruel reality hit him, as he realized that he had been dreaming.

A silent tear fell down his cheek. A lonely tear, a tear of regret…

"I've never spent a Christmas without you or Jamie.", he whispered, looking at the same old clock Sirius had looked at on their last Christmas Eve spent together. The last Marauder's Christmas Eve. It was minute past midnight. "Merry Christmas Padfoot, Prongs… Wherever you are."

The End
