My name is fáv̱los lýkoi and these are the last hours of my life…

Some say that when you try to leave the world behind the world will find you, but I never listened to any of that superstitious blithering. I wanted to live my life as I wanted ; alone and peaceful, so in the years following my graduation I slowly began pulling away from the world and it kept pulling back, finally after many years I finally broke the rope and won my freedom. It was simple while I was pulling away I kept in contact with friends and family, this was the key by removing them from the equation I would be free. So at the age of twenty-one and a half I broke off contact with the outside world and moved to a sequestered part of Germany far away from any city or town. Needless to say I still had to interact with the world, but it was only for food, one of all creatures weaknesses.

Every week I would set traps close to my small home never venturing deep into the forest that bordered it, a decision that I would later come to regret. After two years of seclusion I began to wonder whether or not I made the right choice so to quell my churning thoughts I decided to go for a walk… in the forest. As I walked down a naturally carved path I wondered where my life had gone and for that matter when it had gotten so complicated, as I looked up I was surprised to see that I had wandered into a portion of the forest that I did not know. Knowing the dangers that lurked in the forest panic began to settle in, I had no idea where I was or which way I should go, I was lost. I looked to the sky the sun had set and the mother of the night was out in her full glory.

Running…I have been running for hours now, they first saw me when the night was still young and now the night is at its climax. I fear that I won't be able to continue much longer these, wolves, if you could call them that seeing as they're larger and faster than any other wolf I've ever come across. No matter how fast I run and no matter how many turns I make they're always there always following; always toying with me. There is four of them three are the deepest shade of black with amber colored eyes that almost seem to be glowing, the leader is silver it almost glows in the light its eyes however are the most disturbing thing I have ever seen, vicious swirling vortexes of reds, blacks, greens and a myriad of other colors. I've made my choice I have to stand and fight to live I can only hope for the best.

The world went in slow motion for the shortest of time as I met the eyes of my pursuers, cold and unforgiving. Their heads stand chest high on me their teeth are bared and awaiting the blood bath that is soon to come. In a flash of silver and black they have me pinned on my back with my arms, legs, and head held down. The silver one crawls up on my chest to look into my eyes and I see the veiled message in those swirling pools of color. For the briefest of moments I see what I have done with my life, and the time that I've wasted, and then it's over. My life taken, my blood returned to the earth, and my body left to nature.

They say that if you try to leave the world behind the world will find you, but what they never tell you is that when it finds you…you die.
