His room was in darkness, the only sound was the irritating vibrating of his phone. Robb groaned and sat up in bed, ran this hands through his already messy hair and stifled a yawn. He didn't even need to check the caller ID to know who was calling him; he considered ignoring it, just turning off his phone and going back to sleep, but finally, as it was drawing close to its final ring, Robb answered the phone.
"Damon?" The other end was still silent, just the sound of heavy breathing on the other end. Had the makings for some horror movie, Robb mused. "Which girl was it this time?" he asked without even having to be told, his tone was rather abrupt, irritated at being woken up in the middle of the night. "Caroline? I told you the Barbie and Ken jokes would piss her off soon enough. Or was it Bonnie? I was surprised she didn't sucker punch you there and then for that "I'll complete your circle" thing." Robb rubbed his eyes and smirked at the memory; Damon had a way of going after the women that would leave him with far more broken than just a heart. He would always try to play it off cool after, make some crude joke about being tough outside but soft inside or something, and a lesser man probably would just roll his eyes and believe Damon. But not Robb. Robb knew him better than that.
"You're cranky in the morning," came his muffled answer.
"I'm not cranky." He snapped back. "You called me at-" he gave a quick glance to his clock "-four in the morning!"
"I hear: cranky in the morning." Robb could tell two things from Damon's response; one, he was grinning at his own response as he normally did, finding himself far more funny than everyone else did and two, he was drunk.
"You're the biggest ass I know, Damon."
"With the best ass though."
At that Robb hung up the call before throwing back his sheets and standing up. He pulled a pair of trousers off the floor and a t-shirt that had been discarded next to it and slipped them on before walking out of his room and down the stairs to put on some coffee. Damon would be over soon and Robb needed to be more awake and Damon needed to be more sober.
