You're Safe Here
Summary: In Danny's arms, she found safety.
A/N: Okay, it's a stormy day here in Indiana and we've had a Tornado Watch all day. So this story kind of unfolded in my mind, so I hope it's good.
Disclaimer: I own them, I totally own them. SIKE.
Thunder boomed loudly over the midtown apartment and it jolted Danny Messer from his slumber. He felt the bed next to him and it was cold, where was she? Lightening struck outside and cast shadows across the room and he saw her, standing next to the window. Her hands rested on the glass as she watched the rain pour on the street below them.
"What are ya doin' Montana?" Danny asked, climbing out of the bed and walking over to her.
"Watching the storm." Lindsay murmured and Danny wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her head.
"Don't they have thunderstorms in Montana?" Danny teased, tracing his hands up and down her arms.
"Yeah," She burrowed against him, "but they usually lead to somethin' bigger. Tornadoes, Dust Devils, flash floods or somethin'..."
"You don't have to worry." Danny murmured in her ear, "You're safe here."
"I know." She whispered back.
"C'mon." He tugged at her arm, pulling her back to the bed. He lifted the covers and they both slid under. His arms wrapped around her waist and her chin rested on his chest. Leaning forward, he kissed her nose and she smiled.
"I love you." She whispered.
"I love you too." Danny breathed and she felt it. Content. Happy. Safe.
A/N: I know it's short, but I think it works.
