"He asked if he could call you what?!" Booth exclaimed. He sat on her desk while she sat in her chair. He was catching up on all the gossip he had missed while out sick with his back trouble.

"I know I couldn't believe he had the nerve either" Brennan agreed.

"Just because the two of you shared a "near death experience" he thinks he can call you Bones" Booth repeated trying to get his head around it. "So what did you say to him after he asked you?"

"Don't call me Bones!" Brennan replied with a smile. Booth couldn't help but smile back.

"You used to say the same thing to me. I think you secretly love it when I call you Bones now" Booth teased her.

"I do not. I'm just used to it" Brennan protested rather weakly.

"Come on admit it. You love it!" Booth again teased her.

Brennan was about to respond when Sweets entered her office.

"Sorry I hope I'm not interrupting anything" Sweets apologised.

"No, no in fact Bones here was just telling me something very interesting" Booth said and glared at Sweets. Brennan laughed.

Booth noticed Sweets took a step backwards.

"Um what did I do?" Sweets asked nervously.

"You wanted to call Dr. Brennan Bones?" Booth asked and took a step nearer to Sweets.

"Oh about that." Sweets started to explain but Booth cut him off and held up by the collar.

"Don't even think about calling her Bones again! That's my name for Dr. Brennan and I think you should know that by now" Booth warned him.

"I promise it won't happen again Agent Booth" Sweets apologised and held up both his hands.

"Good" Booth answered and then he saw Sweets running out of the room.

"Way to scare the boy Booth" Brennan said but he could tell she was holding back a laugh.

"Hey no one else can call you Bones and get away with it" Booth said with a grin and went back to join her at her desk.
