I know it's Christmas-y but go with it, I wrote it before Christmas

"Babe?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you seen my files for the Harrison case?"
Hunter appeared in the door to Sebastian's office as Sebastian frantically searched through multiple piles of paper scattered across his desk.
"I could've sworn I'd put them right…" Sebastian trailed off as he spun around on his office chair to come face to face with his smirking boyfriend leaning against the door frame, shiny silver key in hand.
"Hunter, you know how important this case is," Sebastian whined, staring with pleading eyes as Hunter turned to walk out.
"Yes, and you have plenty of time to work on it after Christmas," Hunter called back from where he had already made it halfway down the hall. Sebastian stood from his office chair to follow Hunter towards the living room, pulling his reading glasses away from his face in the process.
"We're decorating the tree." At Hunter's words, Sebastian looked around their small apartment at the several boxes of sparkling Christmas decorations that now occupied the sofa facing the T.V. and the antique armchair in the corner. "Maybe then I'll think about giving you the key to unlock your files," Hunter added with a teasing smile, slipping the key into the back pocket of his figure hugging jeans. They really didn't leave much to the imagination.
Sebastian gave out an exasperated sigh, "Alright." He couldn't help the small smile slipping onto his face.
They spent the afternoon wrapping their newly bought tree in twinkling fairy lights and shiny gold tinsel, pulling each other in for a kiss whenever the opportunity arose and reveling in the fact that the next time Kurt and Blaine came round for coffee, Kurt would spend his time wincing and trying not to comment on how much the colours of the baubles, tinsel and lights clashed. They would most likely make a bet with Blaine on how long he could last before saying something.
"Hot chocolate?" Hunter asked once they were finished, moving off towards the tiny kitchen. Sebastian hummed his affirmation, collapsing into the sofa and gazing upon their masterpiece. They may have gone a little overboard when picking out their tree, it may have been a little too big and they may have gone slightly over the top with the decorations. But it was theirs and it was perfect.
Hunter wandered back through, two mugs in hand, passing one over to his boyfriend who looked on the verge of falling asleep. Hunter took his place next to Sebastian, letting him cuddle into his chest, his eyes beginning to droop closed. He pried the scalding mug from Sebastian's hands and set it down on the coffee table.
"Still want the key to get into your files for that case?" Hunter teased, placing a gentle kiss to the top of Sebastian's head. He was rewarded with a muffled whine from his boyfriend. He let out a chuckle and began to run his fingers through Sebastian's already tousled hair. Yes, he decided, this Christmas was going to be the best one yet.
