I Sit By You And Spread My Wings
I sit by you and spread my wings
To protect you as you sleep
As you lie wrapt in a silvery cocoon
Made of the tassel of your hair.
And gently I caress your cheek
To bring peace to your troubled mind
And still the raging tempest
Of your ice tormented dreams.
Witch borne but borne a pure spark,
We refused to believe the wonder
So forbade you to join our circle
As our sister of the stars.
When you strove to touch The Light
We ignored your pleas for help.
Then The Dark lashed out
And seized your heart
Froze your spark in a coffin of ice.
I alone am your secret lover
Who silently guards your sleep
Who stands up against the Dark
In a fight to free your spark.
So come tomorrows dawn,
May you emerge and spread your wings
No longer as Witch Icy
But as Faerie Ishandra.
