A/N: Wow, haven't posted anything here in forever. Between work and classes, fan fiction has had to take a back seat. For a very long time. Sorry about that.
Hero. A label with which he was never comfortable, never would be. Heroes save the day, keep people from dying. He was merely the cleanup crew. It took at least one unusual death to know there was a problem. Truthfully, not until several people died and created a pattern could he track down who or what was killing innocents.
Cradling the body of a nine-year-old girl, another child he couldn't save, he certainly didn't feel like hero. A hero would deliver her safely to her parents, not home to be buried. He was no hero. Failure, yes. Never a hero.
A/N II: I am learning to make more time for what I enjoy, including fan fiction. I hope this is the first of lots of new writing posted here. I have unfinished stories BEGGING to be completed. They will. ASAP.
