Remus Lupin loved coffee. Everybody knew this. One of his best friends Sirius Black definitely knew this. It was a Thursday morning when Sirius and Remus was sitting in the Great Hall eating breakfast that Sirius came up with one of his not always so brilliant ideas.
"How many cups of coffee have you had now, Moony?"
"It's my third. Why?" Remus answered after having swallowed another mouthful of coffee.
"How much coffee can you possibly drink?"
"A lot."
"I bet you can't drink twenty cups at one time."
"Why would I do that Padfoot?"
"No reason, but if you don't do it, it means I automatically won the bet."
"I didn't even agree to a bet."
"Doesn't matter."
"OK, I'll take your stupid bet if it makes you happy, and I promise you that I can drink twenty cups of coffee."
"At one time."
"Yes."
"Great, the bet will take place tomorrow morning. If I win you'll do my Transfiguration's homework for a month."
"And what if I win?"
Sirius thought for a while. "I won't ask you to do my Transfiguration's homework for a month."
Remus gave that some thought. "Deal," He then said with a smile. "And I will keep you to that."
The next morning Sirius and Remus sat down in the Great Hall. Sirius placed a cup in front of Remus and poured coffee into it from a nearby pot. "OK, let's start." He said.
Remus immediately lifted the cup and emptied it, and Sirius refilled it. This went on for a while. "You're gonna spend the day in the bathrooms." Sirius told Remus as he poured him his twelfth cup.
"See told you I could do it." Remus said as he put down the last cup on the table.
Sirius stared at him in opened mouth astonishment. "I seriously didn't think you could do it."
"Well you were wrong and now I will keep you to your promise." Sirius groaned.
As they got up to leave Sirius noticed Remus's hands were twitching and he was clasping and unclasping them. When they slowly started to make their way up to Transfiguration, which was their first subject for the day, Sirius noted that Remus's whole body was twitching and he was moving like there were ants crawling all over his skin.
"You OK Moony?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
They reached the classroom and sat down just as professor McGonagall entered. Sirius had a hard time concentrating on what McGonagall was saying since Remus who was sitting next to him was twitching more and more by the minute.
"Sit still." He hissed.
"I can't." Remus whispered a bit too loudly back. McGonagall looked up at them.
"Is there a problem boys?"
"No." Sirius said, but Remus practically jumping up and down in his seat by now was contradicting that.
"What's the matter Mr. Lupin?"
"Can't sit still." Remus close to screamed and jumped out of his seat, starting to jump up and down on the spot."
"Mr. Lupin, What are you doing?"
"Can't sit still."
Sirius had bended over his bench and was laughing hysterically.
"Mr. Black, can you explain this."
"Coffee." He got out before starting laughing again.
"Coffee?"
"Yes." Sirius took a deep breath to calm himself, which was kind of hard with the still jumping Remus next to him. "It was a bet, I told him he couldn't possibly drink all that coffee, but he proved me wrong, sort of."
"How much coffee?"
"Twenty cups."
"Twenty cups!"
The whole class was laughing now, except for McGonagall who looked like she was close to killing someone. Preferably Sirius or Remus.
"Mr. Black take Mr. Lupin to the hospital wing."
Sirius got up from his seat and put his arm around the still twitching but no longer jumping Remus and led him out of the classroom.
"I don't feel so good." Remus muttered, leaning his head against Sirius shoulder. He was hot, twitchy and his heart was beating way to fast.
"Does this mean I won the bet?" Sirius asked.
Remus glared at him as good as he could in his current condition. He looked down at the floor and then up at Sirius again.
"Sirius I really need to pee."
