Author's Notes: This is my first fanfic, so please be nice, okay? It's about Salima wondering over her feelings for Rei and Kane. The pairings are one-sided Salima/Rei and Kane/Salima.

Disclaimer: (sigh,) I unfortunately do not own anything (except the plot). Now on with the story!

Salima was the type of person who often found herself wondering about something. Others said it was just curiosity, but she wasn't so sure. Mostly, she wondered of others' feelings, and her own.

A few months ago, she found her self wondering how she could have fallen for Rei Kon. Okay, so she knew how. After all, Rei was cute, smart, funny, and a really nice guy. Any girl could fall for him. So what she was really wondering was probably more along the lines of "how could she fall so hard for a guy who was already in love with someone else".

That's right. Rei Kon was madly in love with his childhood friend Mariah, and Salima knew it. She also knew that Mariah loved him back. It was obvious to anyone with eyes that the two were meant for each other, so Salima had no reason to fall for him. It just happened.

Sure, Rei seemed to like her, but not like that. every time she came back to the apartment she and her teammates shared after being out with Rei, she locked herself in her room and cried. Her best friend Kane was always there to comfort her.

Kane. There had been something different about him for a while now, but she just couldn't figure it out. Perhaps it had to do with how his smile always dropped a fraction when she mentioned Rei, or the way his eyes lit up when he looked at her. Or maybe it was the fact that he was willing to do anything for or with her, no matter how stupid or embarrassing it was.

"…"

Salima found herself wondering how she had been so stupid as to miss the fact that her best friend since childhood loved her the way she used to love Rei.

Wait. Did she just say 'used to'?! It was funny. It seemed that in the time it took to wonder about Kane's feelings for her, she had managed to get over Rei, which had seemed impossible.

She found herself wondering if the sudden change in feelings had anything to do with Kane. How she always felt most comfortable, most normal, around him. He was the only one that knew some of her deepest secrets, and she his. He was the only one that could truly make her laugh full out, or smile brilliantly. In truth, he was the only one that knew the real her.

"…"

Salima wondered how she had been blind enough to miss the fact that deep down, she cared for him, too. She loved him just as much as he loved her.

But that was a few months ago.

Now, Salima found herself wondering what she had done to deserve the most perfect boyfriend in the world as she clung to his arm as they walked down the street towards the movie they planned on watching.
