Warren smiled warmly as he finished making sure everything was ready; it was the 21st of September, the birthday of his wife Max. Max had gone out on a small photography assignment, she had promised it wouldn't be long, saying she'd be back in time for them to celebrate her birthday.
'It won't be what you expect Max, though...' Warren thought with a grin. It wouldn't be long now, Max would be home soon. Everything was set for his surprise for Max and just in time too for at that moment he heard the front and hurried out to greet her.
"Hey Max, happy birthday." He said, grinning.
Max smiled, seeing him and they briefly hugged and shared a kiss.
"Hey Warren, thank you." She said cheerfully. "So, what are…?"
Warren shook his head. "Actually, Max, could you come through to the living room for a minute."
She looked at him, a little perplexed but agreed and together they made their way through.
"SURPRISE!"
Max froze in shock before grinning as Warren's surprise was finally unveiled. A surprise party, having invited all of their friends, Kate, Alyssa, Stella, Brooke, even Victoria had arrived. Max's parents as well as Joyce and David were all present too.
Max couldn't help but laugh. "Warren you, this is wonderful."
"Glad you like it Max, Happy Birthday." He replied.
They kissed again and turned to the room, Max unable to keep the grin off her face.
As they all sat, enjoying the dinner Warren had prepared, with Vanessa and Joyce insisting on helping, Max smiled, deciding now was the time.
"Warren, I want to thank you for this." She said, before looking around at everyone present. "I also have an announcement to make and I'm glad everybody's here, that makes it easier..."
She took Warren's hand and spoke to the table at large.
"I just want to say Warren, how happy I am that...we're actually both receiving a gift today." She then revealed the truth. "I just found out today...I'm pregnant."
There were gasps and Warren's eyes widened. "Max..."
She nodded and then, grinning, they hugged and kissed again, before everybody began clamouring to congratulate the couple; Joyce and Vanessa being especially emotional. Max knew, this was on birthday, she would never forget.
