Her heart was racing. She took a deep calming breath before taking the wand from inside her robes and pointing it at the man in front of her. All those years of hatred, she thought, all boils down to this. They had both become exactly as others had predicted, as each had predicted.
He spread his arms in front of him.
"I'm unarmed. It's against your set of ethics, isn't it, to assault one as defenseless as I?"
You certainly don't look the part of the victim. Even with his ripped clothing and bloodied appearance, he looked completely confident and in control of the situation.
"Besides, I owe you, as you've said. You saved my life. That counts for some loyalty, even for a Malfoy.. Notice that I used the word 'some'. You can ask me one question."
"Wait a minute. I make the rules here. If it weren't for me, you'd have been vaporized by those Aurors.." She herself could not believe she had actually broken laws to get him out of that mess. But what was done was done.
"And if I answer more than that one question, my fate from the other Deatheaters wouldn't be any different. If you refuse to agree to my conditions, I ask that you give me back my wand so we can fight in true wizard fashion. As wizardly as a Mudblood can manage, anyway."
It's enough. Thank God it was enough. She just had to ask him where they kept Harry - torturing him most likely, killing him slowly for the sheer pleasure of it - and all the trouble will be worth it. He just had to answer her and there would be no other reason to keep him alive. She would kill him, the leader of their movement, and it will all be over. The day will be saved.
"Can we get this over already? I know what you're going to ask. You're going to ask where."
"ARE YOU GAY?" Even Draco seemed stunned.
What had she done?
Then a small smile formed on his lips. He was in control again.
"I'm bi, actually."
"Good enough," she said, forcing her lips on his.
