There was a strange noise, a familiar noise that brought Captain Jack Sparrow from the deepest of sleep. Opening one eye he looked around the small dingy. Nothing but sea. As soon as he had been awoken he once again began to drift asleep.
"Wake up you fat seahorse!" Came a tiny but strikingly familiar voice.
Both of Jack's eyes opened immediately though he didn't move. "Who's there?"
Jack frowned and listened carefully as the sea rocked the tiny dingy like a mother rocking her infant in a soothing cradle.
"Who are you calling fat? He's you...you know!" Came another voice a bit louder and extremely close.
Jack sat up quickly, knocking his head against the back end of the dingy seat that he had been lying under. Wrinkling his nose and squinting his eyes in pain he cautiously sat up and looked around. He gazed about from side to side until he was confident he was only hearing things. 'Must be a side effect from this here rum.' Thought Jack as he picked up a half empty bottle of rum and swirled the contents inside. 'Only way to cure it..' Jack bit the cork and spit it a few feet in front of him at the head of the dingy. Though warm from basking in the sun, he swallowed the contents with confidence, closing his eyes to endure the pain as the hot alchol poured down his throat. Suddenly from the corner of his eye something was coming at him towards the front of the dingy. Lowering the bottle he found perched on the ledge of the tiny boat a seagull. Cooing quietly and tilting it's head from side to side.
"Shew!" Jack waved a hand at the tiny beast with a look of repulse.
The seabird flapped it's wing and let out a wail but remained in place. Jack frowned. "Oh move on you blimey little feather bas..." He began but was caught mid sentence by a voice in his right ear.
"Shoot it." The voice was none other than his conscience.
"You can't shoot it. What did it ever do to you?" Spoke the other conscience.
"He's right you know." Jack said out loud.
The seagull continued to look at him.
"What?" Demanded Jack for he felt as if the feathery creature was judging him.
"Elp elp elp elp." Cooed the bird.
"Haven't you ever seen a pirate before?" He flipped his hair and took another drink from the bottle.
