Defeat
A/N. There seems to be a shortage of New Century Zero fics out there, so here's my contribution.
I won't lose, Vega. I won't let you down. We've defeated this Zoid before. We'll do it again.
I can't wait to tear this Zoid to shreds. To prove that I'm worthy of you, and your innocence. You seem to like the Liger Zero.
I'm jealous.
I'm the better Zoid. Me. The Berserk Fury. I'll prove it.
I can sense the Liger Zero charging its attack. Pathetic. My shield easily deflects the yellow colored beam, and I can see the other pilot's shocked expression already, as he tries frantically to escape from my headbutt.
It's no use, human. You are up against a team that is unbeatable. Vega and I are unstoppable. I watch the Liger crash to the ground, but as it does, another, lesser Zoid charges me.
I can predict its moves from before, this Shadow Fox Zoid. The pilot hasn't learned anything new. I snap right, and smash it flying with my tail. I can see it crash to the ground and lay there, electricity sparking along its legs.
Ha. Can the Liger Zero do that, Vega?
The Shadow Fox strikes again, before I can finish off the Liger. Buying time. How pathetic. I can see the Liger bail out and race back to the HoverCargo with its tail between its legs. Run, kitty, but you can't hide.
Almost absentmindedly, I fire my gun at the Fox, and it goes down, this time for good. Now, onto more pressing matters.
I will be the only Ultimate X. The only one for Vega. My supports lock, and I hear Vega say, "Fire at will, partner." I am his partner. I won't let him down.
The Fox might have gotten one of my buster units, but the other still functions. See you, Liger Zero.
I fire.
The HoverCargo is destroyed. I roar in victory. I am the winner! The strongest!
Out of nowhere, the Liger strikes. I can hear Vega's surprised yell, and I can't move fast enough. Stabbing pain shoots through where my head is located.
This has gone on long enough. I turn, slowly, and I can feel Vega's annoyance at this pilot.
Suddenly, I am grappling madly, trying to pin the elusive Liger Zero. When did it get so fast?
It breaks off the attack, and bounds away. Now, I am angry. I leap after it, and it won't get away!
It jumps onto the wreck of the Ultrasaurus. I simply go through it.
I listen to Vega cry, "I've had enough of you!" Yeah, partner, me too. My buster unit collides with the Liger's claw.
Without warning, the claw smashes though. I reel, unbalanced, and I can feel Vega lose consciousness. No! I won't lose!
I prepare myself for one last attack. The Liger and its pilot prepare as well. It won't get here in time to stop my particle beam. I fire, but something smashes into my neck, holding my head back.
Suddenly, my strength is gone, as I feel Vega eject. Am I.not good enough for him? With this new information, I give up. Vega.
