I like to think of K.K. as the kind of guy who goes through girlfriends quickly. Not because he is a jerk, but because he doesn't have a "real career". I've seen enough movies to know that if someone's a musician trying to get discovered, their relationships aren't going to last very long. Oh, and this is set in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Ok, I'll shut up now.
K.K. Slider was just sitting in The Roost, minding his own business, waiting for someone to request a song, when a white cat walked in.
K.K. stiffened. This white cat was his ex-girlfriend. She'd been his ex for about three weeks. K.K. had been really upset when she left him, so he wasn't all too happy about seeing her now.
He recalled their last few days together. He kept saying he needed to get his career off the ground, and she kept saying it was never gonna happen.
A slight smirk crossed K.K.'s face. After she'd left him, he'd written a song called "Two Days Ago", which was really starting to take off. In fact, it was his most requested song. He'd even sent a copy to a record company. He was still waiting for a reply, but still.
He lifted his head. His ex was sitting down in a chair. "K.K.-" She called, but he interrupted her.
"Say no more, my dear." He began to strum the first few chords of "Two Days Ago".
"How could it be,
That this all happened,
So suddenly?
I was lookin dapper,
You were beautiful, you see.
But you were sharp as a red snapper,
It didn't matter to me.
Two days ago, when I was still in love with you,
Two days ago, when I thought all your lies were true,
Two days ago, when we were still together,
Two days ago, when I was not alone forever.
Two days ago."
K.K. kept strumming his guitar. After a few bars, he began the second verse.
"We were so happy,
Or at least I was.
Did you think I was crappy?
Well you never made a fuss.
You said you loved taffy,
And you never used to cuss,
We always used to laugh.
Two days ago, when I was still in love with you,
Two days ago, when I thought all your lies were true.
Two days ago, when we were still together,
Two days ago, when I was not alone forever.
Two days ago."
"K.K..." She whispered. K.K. heard her, but he ignored her and moved onto the bridge.
"I thought I loved you,
And you loved me back,
But it turned out that wasn't true,
And it was all a TRAP...
Two days ago, when I was still in love with you,
Two days ago, when I thought all your lies were true,
Two days ago, when we were still together,
Two days ago, when I was not alone forever,
Two days ago.
Two days ago.
Two... Days... Ago...!"
K.K. finished the song and looked at his ex-girlfriend. "K.K..." She whimpered. He saw she was crying.
"Olivia..." He breathed, using her name for the first time. She got up from the table and walked over to him. "I'm so sorry." She said, looking him in the eyes. "It was wrong of me to judge you because of your music. K.K., I love you. Won't you take me back?"
K.K. bit his lip. He didn't want to forgive her... But at the same time he did.
"I forgive you."
She gasped in the middle of a sob. She hugged him, then they kissed.
Olivia pulled out of the kiss. "K.K.," She said, starting to tear up. "That song was beautiful. I always wanted to hear you sing it." She sniffled and smiled a little bit. "I hear of you everywhere now that Two Days Ago has become a big hit."
Two days ago, he had writers block in his crappy apartment. Now, he was back together with his ex-girlfriend. Three weeks and two days ago, he was depressed and single. Now, he was happy and in a relationship. A lot could happen in two days.
