PRETTY EYES

Hey, look! I'm writing a TVD story again. Belongs in my "Abused Stefan" reality and takes place during the scene in "I'd Leave My Happy Home For You"where Stefan and Damon vervained Lily. Belongs to L.J. Smith and the CW.
"You're looking into my eyes," Lily realized after Stefan had finished talking. "You always had such pretty eyes," she said fondly. Long ago, there had been times that she had gotten lost in her youngest eyes. And each time, those eyes had made everything better, even when Giuseppe was at his worst. Honestly, they were the one thing that she could hold onto before she became a vampire: Stefan's eyes and Damon's unfailing love for her. But she had ruined that with everything she had done. It wasn't her fault though. She was just trying to get her family back. Was that too much to ask? She needed her friends so that she could stay off the edge. She had thought Stefan would understand that seeing as how he was a Ripper too, but no. He was all about making a new connection with her and teaching her his own tricks for not losing control. Not that the offer wasn't appreciated, because on some level she did appreciate what her youngest was trying to do, but she would also need her friends who were unfortunately trapped in a prison world. And she would do anything to get them back, even destroy Stefan and Damon, as much as it would pain her to do so. Hearing these words, Stefan froze. Pretty eyes. Father had used to say that to him all the time when-No! He couldn't go there! He had to stay focused! Before he knew what was happening, the woman had grabbed him and had the stake raised above him. No, he thought to himself. He didn't want to die like this. To his relief, Damon was there in an instant, sticking the Vervain needle into their mother's neck, and catching the woman as she collapsed.
"You okay?" the older boy asked. I'm okay. The words just surprised me. Father used to- Stefan's mental voice broke off. I'll buy you a drink, Damon assured. He hadn't expected things to get this bad and he was going to do everything he could to help his brother forget…
