He was a Knight jousting against a much more experienced and charming Knight. He was sitting in the audience, adoring his love reciting Shakespeare on the stage, and as he turned toward him, the rest of the world melted away for them both. They were lovers in Rome, drank tea in China, climbed the pyramids in Egypt, and hid from Vampires in Transylvania.
Big Ben chimed the time in England as Feeny kissed him, and they broke bread in France. They fought side by side in a war and danced across a Victorian ballroom. They trotted across the globe as highwaymen and sailed as Pirates. They were everywhere at once. They were anywhere Eric wanted them to be, anywhere except stuck sitting and teaching in a stuffy classroom on this fine Spring day.
A loud rapping shattered his daydreams. Eric jumped to attention. His classmates giggled as the object of his dreams instructed, "I would vastly appreciate your undivided attention, Mister Matthews."
Eric grinned. "You've got it, Fuh-eee-ny."
Feeny raised his eyebrows at his young love. "Then you won't mind solving the equation on the board."
Eric glowered but walked to the front of the class. As he muttered underneath his breath while trying to solve the problem he knew he'd fail, he made them both a promise. As soon as class was over, he'd share his daydreams with his beloved Feeny! He grinned. They'd enjoy living out those dreams so much that it would be a long time before Feeny dared to interrupt his imagination again! He couldn't wait for school to be over so that he could take his lover in his arms and show him again how much he loved him. One day soon, he'd love his beloved Feeny openly, and then they would live all their fantasies together!
The End
