We Stick Together as One
"He's gone Elijah" She whispered, tears running down her cheeks. "there is nothing I could do to stop it"
Elijah nodded, trying to control his tears from falling down. He had to be strong for his remaining two siblings. No matter how much he hated Niklaus and how many differences they had in their 1000 years, in the end he was still his little Brother.
Elijah than embraced his little sister in a tight comforting hug. Rebekah buried her head in his shoulders and broke down completely. He rubbed her back in comforting circles; he hadn't seen his sister this vulnerable since they were human.
"You did all you could" He whispered, his chest felt heavy but he cherished being able to hold his sister safe and unharmed in his arms. He held her hand and dragged her to the Mansion soothing and comforting her. They were planning to leave as soon as Kol arrived.
Kol was on his way to Mystic Falls. He still couldn't believe when Elijah called him and informed him about Nick. Partly he blamed himself for not being there when they needed him. He couldn't forgive Nick for daggering him but in the end he was still his big brother and they had vowed "we stick together as one always and forever"
When he reached Mikaelson Mansion he saw Rebekah crying. Kol went inside and sat down on the Sofa on other side, trying to hide his emotions and his muffled sobs.
Elijah got up and tried to comfort his little brother. Kol resisted at first but eventually he broke down burying his face in his Brothers shoulder.
"let it go Brother. I will never leave you and Rebekah" Elijah said comforting him.
Kol seemed so vulnerable and human at that moment. They had lost to much in this fight. Henrick, Finn, Niklaus their Parents although they were the reason Nick was dead.
"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry" Kol was whispering, wiping his eyes.
"For what?" Elijah asked, confused.
Kol opened his mouth but he shook his head and turned his head away.
"For what Kol?" Elijah demanded an answer with authority.
"I-I wasn't there. I should have been there. I should have stopped it... I'm sorry"
Elijah's eyes softened. "It wasn't your fault"
"No, but I could have stopped it, I could have done something, anything.
Elijah hugged him and told him to stop blaming himself.
Rebekah still crying inconsolably got up and sat near Kol. He wrapped his protective arm around her and she leaned her head against his chest. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her remaining two brothers and only family. They three were all they had left.
Elijah tried to hide his emotions in front of his little brother and sister. Trying to comfort them he couldt think about how much he missed Nick. He got up from the couch and went to his bedroom. Finally he allowed tears to flow down thinking about how much they had lost.
Now Rebekah and Kol had only him and t was his duty as a Big brother to protect them from any harm and he promised himself he will not let anything happen to them.
It would be hard to overcome Klaus death but he will be strong for his brother and sister.
