Jack glowered at his offending compass. Every time he opened it, it showed him the same thing, but it was always the wrong thing. It should have been showing him gold, the Fountain of Youth, true freedom, but definitely not Will! Gibbs called it a paradox, but it was nothing more than a pain in Jack's butt!
He threw it in the ocean. Jack watched in amazement as the crisp, blue waves slapped it back at him. He stared at where it landed in front of his feet, his mustache trembling. "Bloody Hell!" Maybe it was a paradox, after all!
