Will looked away, his cheeks burning from the way Jack looked at him. "I'm only interested in getting Miss Swann back home safely." Liar! he shouted inwardly. Adventuring eternally with Jack was far too beguiling. "Besides, you couldn't leave your ship."
"Aye," Jack spoke quietly, watching the stars that were their compass. He couldn't leave his Pearl - unless, just perhaps, this enchanting boy was willing to be his anchor instead. No, he thought, steering their course steadfast, he couldn't leave her even then.
