Exodus: The Dark Years
Prologue
Lord Voldemort second dark wizard in the last one hundred years. Who started a war against their fellow wizards and muggles alike. His second war raged across England and the majority of the European mainland. Voldemort himself was killed at the battle of Hogwart's in spring 1999. While the wizarding world celebrated its victory. Many death eaters under the command of Fenrir Grayback continued attacking muggle and wizards with abandon. During the post war struggle almost all the magical secrecy laws where broken. By the end magic was a daily news story in every country on earth. Regular civilians afraid of what they didn't understand forced their governments into action.
Shortly after rewards where offered for information about magical families. Muggleborn families fled to the safety of magical community's. The families that stayed in the muggle world where quickly captured. The magical world quickly formed the quick response unit. A unit responsible for getting muggleborn families out of danger. Also in a search and rescue capacity for the families already missing.
Over the next few months they successfully move over five hundred families into magical protected area's. It takes a year before they find some of the families taken by the muggle governments. What that small group of saviors find will haunt them for life. In a camp no larger than a small house lay the bodies of magical children. The children some to young to attend Hogwart's bodies covered in deep cuts and scars. The small team is filled with emotions as they spend the next three hours identifying and cremating the bodies.
The magical world is completely outraged as the news spreads. In the following weeks all the worlds magical governments meet in Hogwart's school and band together against the threat of the muggle world. In the following weeks they form a single world wide magical government. In the next year Hogwart's expanded into the great forest as building after building was built. During the great build it became the home of the world government and the most protected magical place in the world with a population of seven thousand. The grounds consisted of the School, the Government seat and offices, ten ward stones protecting the entire area with protective enchantments, and dense apartment buildings.
That same year the quick response unit was re tasked as a guerrilla warfare unit. Harry Potter the head of the unit retired. He remarked about having gone to war once was enough for him. He quickly took a position in the World Council.
After months of training quick response units from across the world began the full on war. On March 31st 2006 telecommunications, power stations, and important country infrastructure was damaged across the world. The muggle response while slow was horrific small magical community's in north America where whipped off the face of the earth as several tactical nuclear missiles detonated above them.
The attacks sent the magical world into action once again. The world council stopped all plans for future attacks against the muggle world. Also they put forth many science programs and research on warding against nuclear weapons. The attack also began the mass migration of the magical populace to the lands around Hogwart's.
For the next five years the different worlds kept to themselves. This fragile peace allowed the magical community to thrive. Hogwart's the once proud castle settled alone atop a hill was now the centerpiece of a struggling magical metropolis.
