Several years had passed since Jemma had passed away and Jemma was true to her word Skye felt her love every day since; she kept her promise of taking care of Fitz and the others, saving people, and being the hero. Skye had worked hard to take care of Fitz, he was devastated after Jemma's passing and Mac helped a lot with taking care of him. The others took it hard as well, but not as hard as Fitz and Skye; they all took time together to mourn and get passed her passing.
Several months after Jemma passed Skye and the team were able to take down Hydra, including Whitehall and Bakshi; Skye personally took them down and handed them off to the military who they had been working with. She was able to confront them with the pain that they left her with, for taking Jemma away from her; she made sure that they knew how much of a void they left in killing Jemma.
They had recently been called to a facility that they had new information on, where they were holding children who they were training to become assassins. Coulson and the team were going to try and get the children out and as quickly as possible; they had gotten information that the experiment of training them had taken a wrong turn and they planned on blowing the facility up with the children inside and Skye and the team weren't going to let that happen.
Skye had infiltrated their main facility and lead the way for Hunter, Bobbie, Trip, and May to join her in getting the children out. They each took a different floor, Skye just happened to take the basement; she immediately was confronted by one of the leaders who shot her as she shot him, he died from his wound. She started to get the children out when the first bomb went off; she knew that she had to get the children out as quickly as possible. She was able to clear the basement before the bomb in the basement went off.
So when she got back to the stairs that were her only way out and they were covered with debris; she knew she was stuck with no way out and the building was starting to collapse. Skye was sitting on the ground near where one of the doors was located, leaned against one of the walls; she could feel her life leaving her. Apart of her was sad that she wouldn't be there anymore to protect more people, but another part knew that she'd finally be able to be with Jemma, to kiss and hold her again.
"Jemma?" Skye said as her blurry eyes focused on someone standing in front of her.
"Hello Love." Jemma said as she sat down in front of Skye and gently took her hand in hers.
"I can feel you."
"Yes you can."
"I missed you so much."
"I missed you too."
"I saved them."
"I know. You did brilliantly, Love."
"Can we be together forever now?"
"Of course."
"You'll stay with me?"
"Always."
Skye's breathing started to slow as she continued to bleed out on the floor; Jemma had moved to hold her in her arms. Skye knew that she didn't have much time left and took out her phone, where she wrote letters to the rest of the team, to hopefully help them move on from her death. She sent the letters as soon as she finished all of them; she held on to Jemma as she finally felt herself give in to the darkness.
"Open your eyes Love." Jemma said softly as she tugged on Skye's hand and Skye slowly opened her eyes. Skye looked around and saw a beautiful sight, Jemma standing in front of her surrounded by a gorgeous meadow; Skye smiled at the sight.
"Jemma." Skye said as she pulled Jemma in to her arms, she could smell Jemma's perfume and she finally felt that she was complete again.
"We can be together now forever."
"Good. I love you."
"I love you too."
