Considering that it was Santa's workshop, the Guardians were prepared for any number of things. However, when they walked into the main living room of Santoff Claussen late Christmas Eve, at just the time to welcome North back from his rounds, they met with a sight they were not expecting: across from North, who was sitting in his big armchair, was a young woman; they guessed she was around 20, with shoulder-length blond hair in a bob, purple eyes, and a rather petite figure.

But it wasn't the fact that they'd never met her before, or the fact that she was talking to North like they were old friends, since North was like that with everyone. No, what they were surprised by was the fact that she was wearing a Santa suit.

Looking up, North noticed them and said, "Ah, you're here! Bunny, Tooth, Sandy, Jack; this is Tiina Väinämöinen. Tiina, this is Bunny, Tooth, Sandy, and Jack.

Jack made eye contact with her, and he thought he saw some sort of recognition, in her eyes, because the next moment, she was asking him, "How have you been since the last time you saw Madeleine and Gilbert, Jack?"

"Fine, how are they?" he asked absently, twirling his staff. He started and asked, "Wait, you know them? Are you, you know..."

"Yep!" she said cheerily.

Turning to North, Tiina asked, "Do they know about us?" Receiving a nod, she introduced herself again. "Tiina Väinämöinen, also known as the personification of Finland."

"Oh, so that's why you're dressed in a Santa suit," Tooth reasoned.

"Yeah," she admitted. Glancing at her watch, she said, "It was lovely talking to you, but I have to get going. Peter stayed up with Berwald to wait for me, and the rest of the Nordics are over for Christmas, so I don't want to take too long."

Following her to the door, they found Finland at the reins of a beautifully carved sleigh that looked infinitely safer than North's. She took off waving, then with a flick of the reins, the sleigh disappeared in a burst of speed.

"Well, North said, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

Having fed and watered the reindeer, Finland let herself into the house, slipping out of her snowy boots. As she walked into the living room, Sweden looked up from his place on the couch (which, like pretty much everything in the house, was from Ikea), Sealand asleep in his lap.

"H'w w's 't?" he asked.

Sitting down next to him and laughing quietly as Hanatamago bounded into her lap, she shared a quick kiss and said, "Nothing out of the ordinary. I stopped by the Pole and said hi to North and the Guardians. How was Peter?"

"He st'yed 'p l'ng'r th's y'r," Berwald said, stroking the sleeping micronation's head.

"Let me go put him to bed," Finland started, but Sweden got up first, picking up Sealand and saying,

" 'll d' 't, y' sh'ld g't ch'nged 'nt' s'meth'ng m're c'mf'rt'ble."

They were both back a couple of minutes later and rejoined each other on the couch. She snuggled into his side, and he put an arm around her and laid his head on hers. That was how Matthias, Lukas, Emil, and Peter found them the next morning.

"Mama! Papa! Wake up, it's Christmas!"

Denmark joined Sealand's cries with his own as they woke up. "Sve, Finny, wakey wak- GAH! Norge - let me - go!"

"Bro, you're being annoying and too loud."

Finland yawned and stretched as Sweden did the same. "It's okay, we're up," she said.

As she gazed around the living room at her family members, who were noisily opening presents and in general being themselves, she smiled.

'I wouldn't want it any other way.'
