Electric Blue

It was his eyes that first caught her attention. Not that the whole package wasn't worth more than a passing glance. And she did give him more than a passing glance despite her denial. But she had never seen eyes that blue. For a moment she had almost overlooked the lie hiding in the background.

The more often that electric blue gaze turned on her, the harder it was to fight the intention behind it. To deny the feelings they were bringing out in her. She didn't want to be hurt again and his eyes promised that he wouldn't be the one to hurt her if she would just trust him.

He had proved time and again than he would be by her side and never let her down. Old habits were hard to break and she had spent her life not trusting anyone and running when things got tough. Still, those eyes had read her like the open book he claimed her to be. He had patiently given her the time to accept that he would never willingly leave her.

Those eyes were so expressive and full of passion that she should have known the instant Gold took his heart. There was no electricity in the blue gaze. Sure she could see something wasn't right, but couldn't pin point what it was. His eyes had desperately tried to tell her that all was not right. For as much as she could tell if someone was lying, it was different when someone was being magically prevented from telling her the truth and played like a puppet.

When she had put this heart back where it belonged she could tell instantly. That electric blue gaze turned on her seconds before his lips descended on hers. Sparks surged through her. She could barely remain standing upright. Yes, her Killian was back.

Even now those eyes were watching her performing her mundane duties as Sherriff as if she was the most fascinating thing he had ever seen. She knew she wasn't but it did make her feel cherished and special, even loved.

Sometime over the past two years blue had become her favourite colour. Not the blue the sky was but the blue that put the ocean to shame. The blue that never failed to make her heart skip a beat when it was turned on her: Electric Blue.
